http://www1.skysports.com/f1/news/1...votal-year-in-2014-admits-boss-tony-fernandes Video of interview here, he mentions QPR
AKCJ, seems to me that zero points in five years means he's gone through the tough times quite a while ago. A smart businessman knows when to quit. Throwing good money after bad, and all that!
they didn't developed last years car and worked on this one instead, there's also massive rule changes to shuffle the pack so they have to catch up or they'll never do it
He'd have left us a long time ago if that was the case. Caterham probably isn't a good enough marketing tool any more to promote the airline or whatever its purpose is. Unless he genuinely has developed an affinity with QPR, which is quite possible, we'll be going the same way if we're still in this league some day.
What a great interview and think F1 is as dull as dishwater but I know there are a few petrol heads on here. TF gives a wonderfully articulate response to all of the probing questions the gossip-seeking journo asks. His enthusiasm for us is so refreshing and I loved everytime he mentioned ´we´ when refering to QPR which some might find odd considering he is a WHU fan at heart. Bless him, we are lucky to have a Chairman like him. By the way, AKCJ do you have day off in the week from being a complete tool?
Kobayashi is probably the most exciting driver F1 has had since Montoya, will be good to see him back in F1. Nonetheless, I would still be happy to see our Tony stick with just QPR and concentrate his sporting efforts to football alone.
I thought he's only been with you since 2011?
I noticed on SSN yesterday that one of their new drivers for 2014, Kobayashi, has raised £1m in "crowd sponsorship" for Caterham and will be driving for free! I wonder if we could get Messi and Ronaldo to do the same for QPR?
Kobacrashi is great, hes either going to get past or crash trying. A very entertaining driver in the right way unlike Maldanano whos entertaining but only because he tries to ram others off the track.
The worst piece of s**t stirring I have seen in a while: - Tony Fernandes: I’ll quit QPR if we’re off the pace again 1 0 STANDARD SPORT Published: 22 January 2014 Updated: 13:15, 22 January 2014 Tony Fernandes has threatened to quit Formula One if his Caterham team endure another pointless season. Fernandes is still searching for his first point after five years in charge of Caterham. That puts pressure on drivers Kamui Kobayashi and F1 rookie Marcus Ericsson but Fernandes says everyone in the team must deliver. “My message to the 250 people here [at the factory] is we have to go for it this year. This is it - the final chance,” said Fernandes, who also owns Queens Park Rangers. “If we’re at the back I don’t think I’m going to carry on. Nothing is set in stone, but after five years with no points there is a limit to one’s patience, money, motivation etc… so it’s an important year.”
Is AKCJ really being stupid or are his comments just a wind up? In case it's the former perhaps we should spell out that he is referring to possibly quitting Caterham FI team. NOT Queens Park Rangers.
