If Vermaelen is not fit, then one of Kos or Mert have to play. Also, if Bendtner is fit, then I would play him through the middle and put Podolski out wide.

I'm sure it was the last game of the 1990/91 season Do you remember Coventry beating us 3-0 on the first day of the season when Mick Quinn scored w hat trick
This needs to be a mixed team really. I'd go for: Fab Jenks Merts Verm Monreal Flam Wilshere Ox Bendy Pod A blend of youth & experience that should see them through but resting Kos, Sagna, Gibbs, Ches, Ozil, Caz, Arteta, Giroud, Rosicky. Maybe have a couple of youngsters on the bench, but I'd rather get a solid victory & keep the cup run alive. There's enough quality there to win.
Cym is right, it was the final game of the championship winning 90/91 season. Perry Groves scored twice I seem to remember in what was a proper party as we'd won the league the previous week by beating Man Utd - and that was the season we had 2 points deducted for the OT brawl....
We'd already won the league before we played Man Utd as Liverpool had lost earlier in the day.If you remember Man Utd formed a guard of honour and applauded us onto the pitch before the game
Yeah remember it well, took me by surprise that to be fair. Must have upset Fergie having to do that, would have been about the turning point for him. When did we beat Utd 2-1 in a cup game at Highbury when that gobby ****e McClair hammered a last minute penalty deep into the North Bank ?
Wasn't that the game when Winterburn gave McClair a load of grief for missing the pen. Something makes me think it was 1988 as i'm sure it happened in the same year that Winterburn missed a pen against Luton in the LC final
Let's not kid ourselves, it's going to be 2-0. We're going to play terribly, yet still win 2-0, because that appears to be the new modus operandi.
