I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.

Carrow Rd is hardly a cauldron of noise, its pretty limp really and I'm all for the players hitting back at criticism, it makes them more interesting.

Becchio certainly made it interesting when he spoke out about lack of opportunity. Would be Ok with more of that.

    How are you Carrabuh?

Not too bad. Better for 3 points on Saturday , which was the best thing of a pretty low quality match overall.

You think the fans give 100% all the time?

I thought we were a little better than people gave us credit. I liked what I saw of RVW, rubbish and inappropriate service as usual but he was more involved.

Hull are rubbish however and deserved, like so often when we play away absolutely nothing, for the very same reasons we deserve to lose.

That's what I was thinking, sounds rather a bold statement if you ask me

I think our away support does and 27000 turning up every game despite poor displays says something. Keeping away would be more concerning. Some players quite often this season have not turned up. The thing is long after Ryan and Hughton are gone, we can still be relied on, loud or quiet. I am no big fan of Hughton but his handling of the fans reactions is commendable. Did he not say we are excellent and loyal?

We are not payed to support . Bennet is payed to perform irrelevant of how loud or quite the support is or whether banners are up or not.

Given that, as surgeryman says, the punters at least turn up, allbeit often reproducing the atmosphere of a morgue, maybe the club should invest in canned crowd noise. Someone could make a recording at a ground where the crowd do actually get behind the team (there are several such grounds after all), then play it over the Carrow Road sound system. It would have the beneficial effect of drowning out all the moaning for a start, and might even encourage the silent seat-warmers to join in and chant and cheer. <ok>

So does simply paying your money and turning up constitute "giving 100%"? I dunno, I personally would have thought the brief of a supporter might have stretched a little further than that.

where are the cauldrons of noise in the PL. I have been to 8 away games and the atmosphere at all has been pretty ****e. The fans so called big clubs are only interested when they play their rivals, otherwise in my experience over the last few seasons, the atmosphere at football grounds is dying

Have to agree with this. Premier league money is affecting everything.

With the support,I would say at most grounds 3 stands are quieter as the norm with one home section and the away bit providing the " atmosphere" .This improves if there is commitment from the players or a need to get a result ie using clappers ( yuk! ). Like the idea of playing chants Robbie!

Perhaps the happy clappers should clap with a bit more gusto, like they mean it.

Canned support would be like canned laughter, it doesn't make rubbish all of a sudden funny.

The only cues the crowd need to evoke a cheer comes in the form of entertainment.

St James Park has very little noise/atmosphere anymore aside from the Derby games.

Unfortunately you get asked to leave for persistent standing and I've never seen anyone at a football match sing whilst sitting down. It's them same at pretty much every ground I've been at. I watched us lose 3-0 at Swansea on a Wednesday night and even at 3-0 up their fans couldn't muster a song. You could hear the players shouting on the pitch etc.

It's just an unfortunate fact that away fans are better these days as they seem to be allowed to stand up and sing their hearts out without being removed from the stadium. Of all the the prem teams I'd say that Palace have one of the most vocal/loud home supports.

Palace's 'Ultras' section are brilliant. A very loud bunch.

Maybe if these safe standing areas come in to this country, then the atmosphere of grounds may come back
