Wiki obviously thinks we've got our man. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul-Georges_Ntep "On Jaunary 21 2014, Auxerre agreed a fee of 8 Million Pounds for Ntep to join QPR on a 4 year contract"
Hmmmm I'm sceptical about wiki postings so until its on the offish I won't believe it. Also this 'On Jaunary 21 2014, Auxerre agreed a fee of 8 Million Pounds for Ntep to join QPR on a 4 year contract.' would worry me if true. £8m on someone unproven sounds ridiculous.....oh hang on it is the Rangers
£8m? He better be good if this is true. If Arsenal were after him I'm assuming he'd be on another Remy type deal, get out clause if we don't go up. End of the road for Hoilett and SWP if true. Tony said 1 signing remember......I can't believe we'd pay £8m for this bloke and another £8m+ for Rhodes after trying to tighten it all up in the summer.
Crazy how can they put it on there & nothing coming through from HQ or ian taylor, does seem a bit far fetched but as you say its rangers!
The info is somewhat precise-you would think they dont just put this stuff up without some evidence base.
We can't have it both ways. Top young players are expensive and if true, this further demonstrates our clubs ambition. Tony seems to be dammed if he does and dammed if he doesn't. Isn't buying young players and planning for the future what we are all crying out for?
Nope naysayers want young gems for a dime, that no other club has heard of, that come in and storm the league Nuts, Of course you are right
Absolutely mate, and I actually trust Tony to get the money side right, FFP and all. Just seems a little odd, a parsimonious summer (well Austin and Phillips aside...) followed by a profligate winter....but it makes sense if the feeling in the club is that promotion is nailed on, and we are simply getting ahead of the summer market because quality is available.
No one is saying that as far as I can see. To me £8m for Msr Entebbe strikes me as top end. Maybe I'm wrong but its a lot for someone unproven.
Everyone is talking about how much it's going to cost us but we are not taking into account who will be going so and although we have real evidence of this my gut tells me several will no longer be QPR players in a couple of weeks!
You used to be able to post on wiki willy nilly (there's three words you don't often see together!) but I think it is a bit stricter theses days so maybe there is something in it.
All fair points. It could be all rubbish anyway and the price way out. I'm probably on my own here but I feel in Traore, Onouha, Simpson, Hoilett, Phillips, Austin and possibly Adel and Remy, we have plenty of young players in our squad. If Diakite ever fully recovers he would also add nicely to this. IMO, we need an experienced CB and DCM going forward. By this I mean 28-31 bracket. Youth is essential of course but only in certain positions on the pitch.
It does seem to be a lot of money, but Nutso is correct about quality yougsters and I suppose if we cast our minds back 12 months TF forked out £12m on Chris Samba and however much Remy cost in the belief that we would survive. So I suppose £8m for this lad and potentially the same for Rhodes is not unrelistic providing we get promotion........But if we don't then FFP kicks in and then who knows what will happen...
Cant Imagine it being £8 mill when the club accepted a 6 million Euro bid for him earlier in the window from Rennes or something like that.
Wiki can be edited by anyone, thats an obvious jab by a jealous fan. One of us could edit it that we got him for a fiver if we wanted to.
8 million is not a lot of dough these days. If he scores regularly and we go up it is a drop in the ocean. I'll only believe it when it is official. Soon?
