Anyone follow the french league ? is he a certain starter for PSG ?

If we get him for the money touted and have targets in place to replace and improve the squad then Yeah I would sell him

Sell , sell sell when stock is high ( like we should have done with cisse )

For this reason I think he'll wait until the summer to make a move, a good WC with France and we could be looking at some serious money.

As much as I love him, this is how the club is run at the minute and it works. Sign cheap, develop a player, sell for a big profit, sign three cheap players and repeat the process. Sounds like we're already lining up replacements.

He will be more focussed on the WC. What about a sale with an immediate loan back option. Is that allowed?

Forget SSN, we now have HSN (Hacky Sack News).

I will be looking out for "HSN sources believe..."

It's a shame we don't go out and sign Cabella and De Jong for around 20m and then flog Cisse for 8-10. Squad hugely improved, tell Cabaye we plan to sign another striker in the summer and offer him a new deal.

Will never happen, but if we did this and achieved a top 6 finish nobody could question our ambition and we wouldn't even be spending silly amounts.

HSN Sources believe that Gabriel Obertan has agreed terms with Barcelona. The deal is almost done with some last minute haggling over the fee. Newcastle want the 17m fee upfront, whereas Barcelona want to pay in installments.

HSN Sources believe that Alan Pardew was actually born to a menage et trois between the greek gods of Zeus (king of the gods), Aphrodite (beauty) and Athena (intelligence)

Mind you, this would be more likely...

    Demba Ba.

Sold for £7.5m in January 2013.

    Bought
    Gouf £2m
    Sissoko £2.5m
    Haidara £2

    Are you excluding Andy Carroll?

It's a fallacy that keeps on coming up time and time again.
Reality is we don't develop and sell players on.
I don't think Demba Ba can be included as we got him on a free, and he left as part of his contract terms not because we wanted to sell him.

Can't have it both ways. If you exclude Ba because he was a free (surely great business to get him for free and then effectively use him to fund Haidara, Gouf & Sissoko), then you do have to say that 'developing and selling on' must include Andy Carroll - one of the best examples of great business in the prem - whether we bought him or not.

Ba wasn't developed by us he was already an established player in any case.
Its arguable that Andy Carroll was developed for selling on, but no club would ever have turned that amount down.

In the three years since Carroll left, who has actually left excluding Ba that you were genuinely p***** off with.
Cabaye will be the first since for me.

The problem as I see it isn't with selling or letting players go, it's with Ashley not going the extra yard and bringing in the 2 or 3 players to make a difference.

Ashley has been clever with the long term contracts players on, but as time goes by and players come towards the end of contracts, we may have to sell players we have 'developed'.

Off the top of my head but with no facts that the money was spent elsewhere; Enrique and Milner?

    Milner left in 2008.
Enrique wanted to be away, and wouldn't have signed contract, so what option did we have but to sell him.
Every club has to move players on or you end up stagnating.

Are you going to rule out anybody who 'wanted' to leave? <laugh>
how many completed transfers involve players not wanting to go?

Definitely not, but Enrique was in last 12 months of contract and refused to sign new one.
