I've got a feeling we won't be as quiet as expected. I'm not saying I expect 4 or 5 new guys but I reckon we have maybe one perm and one loan target lined up. Hopefully it is a striker.
Looks like Holtby will be staying at least for the foreseeable future. Schalke reportedly distancing themselves due to price demands. Alvarao Morata has ruled out any possible loan to England. Us and a few others were interested parties. And finally a bit of news that I highly doubt is true but maybe Spurcat can clarify: "Super Eagles defensive midfielder, Gabriel Reuben has been handed a trial at White Hart Lane with Tottenham Hotspurs, following the termination of his contract at Scottish side, Kilmarnock. The former Kano Pillars ace left Scotland, following a series of disputes with the Scottish Premier League club. It is understood that Reuben, 23, has been invited to train with London side. The 23 year-old helped Nigeria qualify for this summer’s World Cup and is expected to be part of their squad for the tournament in Brazil."
I've read that rumour about Reuben in various places, so it seems to have some legs. Bizarre if true, though. Why a relatively young player with multiple caps for Nigeria ended up at Kilmarnock in the first place is a little strange to start with, but then being released and getting a trial at a much bigger club? Weird. Bentaleb was let go by a French tier 3 team though, so who knows what goes through the heads of some of the people running clubs. Attitude rather than ability, perhaps?
According to Wiki his debut didn't go too well for them either, conceding a penalty! His attitude (again according to Wiki) doesn't seem to great, demanded to be released from contract. Very weird indeed.
it sounds like Khumalo all over again. when is he ever going to get a game? he's already 23, so it's not like he's a kid who can develop.
sky sports tweeted saying Chelsea and Southampton have agreed a fee for Luke Shaw, but then deleted the tweet.
Cool...then we could get mark bosnich in as goal keeper coach and di canio as assistant coach...and during our next away europa league match we could invade poland
Sign Anelka ?? As someone once said : bet there were plenty of (right arm) high fives among the people who thought that one up.
A Berbatov return has been mooted by a good few papers this morning/ last night. Honestly not sure what to think of it. On the one hand, even being 32/33, he's still a class act, perhaps not get the legs anymore but his first touch and ability is still 2nd to none. On the other hand, he treated us like **** when he wanted out and so do we want someone like that returning?
Steven Fletcher has been a naughty boy http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/sunderland-star-steven-fletcher-spits-3036626#.Ut4sXqFFBzB
"took him and a pal through the streets of London" - Looks like he's getting used to his possible new surroundings
