Problem is with signing new players is that they'll take several games to bed in to the team, by which time we should have our injured players back.
And in those 8 games we played Chelsea and Man Utd away, Everton, Man city and Spurs at home....Norwich and Villa away are no push overs either. Get some perspective please. To say that ML was rubbish from day 1 is utter nonsense. I remember you saying that the 5-0 win at QPR was all to do with BR, despite the fact that Michu, JDG and Chico had all been introduced, and WR given a new lease of life....not to mention the more direct and narrow style of play. ML couldn't do right in your eyes from day 1, so really it's hard to take anything you say seriously.
Yes, I agree it takes time to be them in, but we still need them as back up. We shouldn't rush anyone back before they are ready or we will have bigger issues. We struggled last season because we didn't strengthen in the Jan window....given our position now, it would be a huge mistake.
We could probably do with loaning an experienced midfielder, or maybe two, until the end of season. Who'd have thought at the start of the season when we had Dyer, Routs, Hernandez, Michu, Canas, Britton, Guzman, Pozuello, Shelvey and Lamah, that come January we'd be desperate for midfield cover.
So we were playing well before them 8 games is your excuse.. Think about what you are saying man....I don't think so. We use to win most of our home games whoever we played in the past. We are where we are is to do with the predictability of the way we play and nothing else. the players out injured have played in the team so using that excuse does not wash as we had players good enough to play every game. It was only the other day that fans were saying we don't miss Michu and if there was a player who we have missed then its him....We have to win the majority of our games at home now and seeing as we have only won two games all season then i cant see us winning the remainder 7 home games that's for sure. We have not had a single back to back win all season so what makes you think we will win 3,4,5 games on the trot now. It would need a massive turn around the way we play and that is never going to happen. The one hope we have is that three teams will finish worst than us and as they are picking up points and we are not its going to be a nervous run in knowing that we need to do what we have failed to do so far this season...
No the way most of us see it is that we're always going to be in the relegation battle and anything more is an achievement!! lets take another slant on the stats shall we lets look at how we compare against the tams in the so called relegation battle IN JANUARY!!!!!! Swansea 2_wba 0 away swansea 2 palace 0 away swansea 4 sunderland 0 home swansea 0 WHU0 home swansea 0 Cardiff 1 away Swansea 3 Stoke 3 home (robbed) Swansea 2 Fulham 1 away swansea 1 Hull 1 home Swansea 1 Nowrich 1 away swansea 1 Villa 1 16 points 1 loss 5 draws 4 wins Now thats with an Extra game in mid week ( less training, no consistency, fatigue, etc....) Injuries to nearly every player in our starting 11 at some point! what we need now is stability to get back to our best! also our form from the the capital one cup came down to the difficult fixtures that came after just like the one we have recently had! the reason why we finished in a good position last season is because we picked up the points from teams around us! so if we struggle to pick up points from any of the teams ion the list above (10th down) then i will start to worry! Until then CALM THE **** DOWN!
anyone who thinks the demands of the europa League are rubbish just look at Newcastle last season Result W L D D W D L D W D L L L L W L L W L L L D L W W L W L W L L W L D L D W L now judge them on the season before and this season! and lets be clear that they haven't done much in the transfer window either this season!
We took 11 points in the previous 8 games, losing to MC away and Cardiff away. I would say the performances were average during that spell, except for Newcastle.....so yes I would say we were slightly better that our last 8. If we can repeat this in the run in, we will have 43 points. That said, I do think 5 out of the next 8 are very winnable, not easy, but easier than our last 8 games. If we can open up a bit of a gap, pressure will ease a little on us and increase on those below. We don't have to win 3,4 or 5 on the trot to be ok, just need 3 or 4 wins from the next 2 groups of 8 games. I believe we are good enough to do this, but it has to start with Fulham.
Stats don't lie and we are not consistent enough not to be in the bottom 3. Why are these other clubs picking up wins now? because they have either sacked their manager and the new one has brought fresh ideas in to the side or the manager has changed things that was not working for them and have improved. It does not matter who plays for us as we always play the same type of football of plenty of possession going nowhere...can you see the rest of the season being any different under laudrup because i cant and even though we will pick up the odd point here and there we wont be consistent enough to get us out of trouble. He is the worst manager in the premiership at the moment and i cant see that changing for the rest of the season...
Thats your opinion Dai which you are entitled to hold so no issue with that - just dont ram it down everyone's throat at every opportunity please. Thanks in anticipation.
Watching the WBA v Everton game at the moment and I would fancy us to beat WBA they way they are playing even though they have just equalised.
Just curious as to who you'd like to bring in with 2 weeks of the transfer window left? I cannot understand why anyone would want to sack ML now. We'd be sure to go down. Starting to wonder if you wear trousers pulled up to your armpits Dai And by the way, plenty of possession and going nowhere was exactly how we played under BR. We may have down first season under him had it not been for the impact of Gylfi from midfield...with his goals and set up play.
