It has a squiggly line for me. It suggests disinterestedness, intestines and stinginess though.

Question for any techy types on here.

Am looking at getting a MacBook soonish. Has the necessary software etc I need for editing footage and the like, oh, and I want to be able to play Football Manager too, if possible.

What would people recommend? Or say about a MacBook?

    Honesty please.... Thanks

I have a MacBook Air, and think it's fantastic. But, for editing footage and football manager, I would probably recommend the Pro. Honestly, I know it contradicts what TSS is saying, but I have never had any problems with it in nearly 3 years now.

I love my Mac Pro and was a fervently committed PC fan previously. Made the change, hated it for two weeks, but wouldn't dream of going back to a PC now.

got a macbook air. use it for couch surfing because tablets are just too limiting for me and because no windows laptops were built properly at the time.

if I want to get anything serious done I go back to my windows PC because I just know how to get things done with it.

OSX craps out on me just as often, if not more than windows ever did but isn't as easy to deal with when it does.

for video editing mac might be fine though.

    edit: 15 months in btw.

edit2: the trackpad is glorious though.

And that's where the truth lies. The Mac is a very nice piece of kit, which looks nice, but you'll actually get more productivity out of a Windows computer, and there are plenty of good looking ones of those too. It'll also cost you a mere fraction as well, depending on which one you buy. Plus, if you want to be versatile with either it'll cost you with a Mac. With a Win Comp you might even get it free. As to build quality v performance on a Win Comp, it depends on which manufacturer you buy from. You can buy the cheapest or the most expensive. The highest performance or the best build quality. You get a wealth of choice. With the Mac you get the Mac and it will be expensive for what you get. The software tends to be limited compared to a Win Comp.

Actually, there's an excellent case to be made for buying a Linux Comp. Many Linux OS are superior to either AppleOS or Win8.1. And everything is free, unless you want to donate. Of course, Linux Comps aren't cool, and neither are Win Comps. Macs are cool, because they are reassuringly expensive, but having used them in years past and occasionally these days, cool has never impressed me.

Anelka and his quenelle gesture is all over the news again as he waits for an FA ruling. If you gave me a choice between Anelka being anti-Semitic or being stupid...I know which one I would go for. Stupidity follows him around...starting with leaving Arsenal so early. Don't like Zoopla's posturing either...not even waiting for the result of inquiry. They have every right to withdraw sponsorship, but have no right to try and get a player dropped. If they feel so strongly, why don't they break their association with the club immediately with all the compo that would involve. Never even knew what their business was until this blew up...no such thing as bad publicity.

P.s. Just looked up the gesture and found pictures of youths outside Anne Franks House...unpleasant...may have to review my thoughts.

Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa in car crash on the Falklands

    http://m.skysports.com/article/football//9126260

Not meant in a 'funny' way at all, but just wondered what the pair of them would be doing there? Some sort of Anglo/Argentinian relationship building exercise? Trying to win the locals over?

Hope they are ok; loved Ossie as a player (although I did enjoy the Steve Williams incident - you tube if not seen)

definitely a better landscape than when i was buying. ultra books are really a nice option now. bootcamp wasn't as elegant a solution as i'd have liked it to be.

also magsafe is a complete POS

A guy in Canada is naming his kid based on votes on an internet site http://www.namemydaughter.com/

On SaintsWeb they have been working on the middle name and have got Le Tissier right up the list.

Looks like we're going to have a little baby Cthulhu.

For the record I voted for Streetlamp Waitfor-it McLaughlin.

And it appears the name has dropped out or has been removed.

EDIT: Oh, I see. In the extended list. No. 22.

West Brom striker Nicolas Anelka is facing a minimum five-match ban if found guilty of a Football Association charge for making a "quenelle" gesture.

Bound to be found guilty isnt he?

Well he definately did it. It is just a matter of how the FA wrap it up within their rules.
