January 31, 2014 - after lots of haranguing from fans, Haigh finally decides enough is enough, and he sells Leeds United to an unnamed consortium of businessmen from somewhere in the West Indies. To appease the fans, the new owners immediately sack McDermott (this after beating Ipswich 3-0), and move swiftly to appoint former Chelsea legend "Chopper" Harris as manager "to bring more steel to our play," with Terry Venables supporting him as Technical Director from his villa in Spain. Venables thanks the board for equipping him with a laptop, Skype and a free subscription to LUTV so that he can keep in touch with everything going on at the club.

As part of his cleanout and rebuilding process, Harris recommends closing TA, disbanding the Development Squad and moving all training to the car park behind the West Stand. All players under the age of 18 are immediately released, and Harris also gets stuck into his squad, with several players being given free transfers to other clubs so that the deals can beat the transfer deadline. Zaliukas (QPR), Murphy (Burnley), Wootton (Forest) and Smith (Brighton) all say goodbye to Leeds, Kebe has his loan cut short and Stewart is told he'll never kick a ball in a White shirt again. Two hours later Stewart joins Swansea for nothing, effectively proving Harris wrong. Byram, described as "nothing but a thug" is sold to Southampton for £500k plus add ons, and Middlesbrough finally get their man, £850k securing McCormack his "dream move"

The new manager moves quickly, with Michael Brown being appointed skipper, and he brings in some much needed reinforcements:

John Parkin (Striker) £100k from Accrington - 3 years contract - "I saw some footage of his performance for Preston in their 6-4 win at Elland Road on LUTV and felt he was just the sort of bustling target man we need"

Andy Hughes (Utility Player) £100k from Charlton - 3 years - "he is a Leeds Legend"

Ben Parker (Left Back) unattached - 3years - "Ben knows the club, and with Warnock needed to fill in for Stewart, we need a left-back and Ben should settle quickly. Pughey? Pughey is a central midfielder you moron"

Ben Tozer (Defender), Ian Morrison and Chris Hackett (both Midfielders) £750k all from Northampton, with Poleon and Mowatt moving in the opposite direction on loan to end of season.

Leeds go into the Huddersfield derby full of confidence, just three points outside the playoffs, and Harris lines his team up as follows: Kenny; Peltier, Lees, Pearce, Warnock; Austin, Brown; Pugh, Norris, Green; Parkin - in a feisty game, Huddersfield manage 22 shots at goal, hit the woodwork 4 times, and in the final minute are punished when substitute Diouf dives in the box, and converts the resultant penalty. Harris hails his "team of Michael Browns" for kicking Huddersfield into submission, and promptly hands Diouf a new two year contract "because the lad's attitude has been ace".

The next three games all result in 4-0 losses to Yeovil, Brighton and Charlton, with Brown's red card in the last game being blamed on an excitable referee. "Browney was strong in the tackle, nothing more. The fact that the two lads he clattered into both had broken legs isn't his fault, Charlton should get a good strength trainer in," says Harris. He decides against appealing, blaming TV replays as clouding administrators' judgement.

The rest of the season descends into farce as Leeds struggle manfully, managing just one more point in a 0-0 draw at home to Derby in the final game. Their tally of 39 points is enough to keep them up on goal difference. Harris is praised by the board for saving the club from relegation following the "damaging work done by Haigh and McDermott" ... as his reward Harris signs a new five year deal, and he offers new deals to the out of contract players, who all jump at the chance of playing for such a famous club for another three seasons.

July 2014 - Harris welcomes back Steve Morison from his loan at Millwall, and declares his squad as complete. Pre season defeats at Canvey Island, Dover Athletic, Aylesbury United and Slough Town do not diminish Harris' positive outlook, and he says he is satisfied with everything. Leeds go on a League record run of 38 straight defeats, effectively relegated at Xmas, and Harris is finally sacked at the end of the January transfer window. Venables takes over until the end of the season, informing the squad of team selection via Skype before each game.

July 2015 - Leeds fail to secure any of their targets, and Venables resorts to bringing in five loan signings after he is given the job permanently. To try and "improve our luck", the club abandons their famous White strip for red shirts, white shorts and black socks. "We are certainly not trying to copy the great Man United, we just like the kit having been privileged to visit Old Trafford on many occasions", says the Chairman in his programme notes. Another dismal season follows, and relegation to League Two is confirmed when Crewe stick five past Leeds at Elland Road. Venables is sacked with a million pound golden handshake, and Leeds turn to that magician Dennis Wise once again.

August 2016 - their first ever season in the basement begins with a 3-0 home loss to Fleetwood Town in front of just 5,672 onlookers on a glorious sunny day. Wise tries his best, but Leeds can't avoid a third straight relegation, their team of grandads struggling to cope with the pace of League Two. Leeds leave Elland Road, the old stadium being dynamited to make way for a new hotel/casino complex, and the Whites head off to ground share with Huddersfield Town. Life in the Conference proves tough, with a mid table finish being the best Leeds can manage. With crowds now below 1000 Leeds are sold to a local panelbeater, and the club merges with Harrogate Town to become Leeds Gate.

Millwall fans protest on Not606 but are unable to stop the merger going through. "Who do we take the piss out of now?" they moan, but nobody cares anymore.
