This has been doing the rounds on the usual social media sites but thought I'd post it here in case anyone hasn't seen it... Might help brighten your mood on this chilly Monday morning http://www.buzzfeed.com/frittaker/22-signs-you-grew-up-in-suffolk-91uv
Pint after pint of Adnams finest Southwold Bitter, the beaches at Aldeburgh, Southwold and Kessingland, the glorious countryside around the banks of the Stour, the Deben, and Constable Country, the quint esstentially English villages like Polstead, Lavenham, Dedham Vale are just a few things that make me proud to have been born and raised in beautiful Suffolk!
Living in Lavenham aint all that, gets a tad annoying with all the tourists, especially the yanks who think it ok to let themselves into your house and go walkabout!!
There were some people (city dwellers) visiting friends in my (very rural) village and having seen me walk my dog on the field behind my parents (My dad 'the farmer' owns these fields) decided to try and walk through the garden to get to said field..... At which point I told them, with their pristine barbour jackets & hunter wellies to politely get out of my garden and walk elsewhere..
Who knows even SD might get home sick for the Mother County and move back to a little bungalow in Woodbridge!
Grew up in Saxmundham. Youth spent biking around the countryside. Fram castle, Orford castle and canoes on Thorpeness mere. Swimming by the warm water outlet from Sizewell power station and chips in Aldeburgh. Henham steam rally, Bentwaters air show are good memories. I've walked across the Deben at Woodbridge when the tide was out. Lived in Lowestoft, Ipswich and Felixstowe. Many nights spent at Tiffanys when Dance Paradise was going in Yarmouth. I do miss the pubs, the countryside and Portman Road but not the weather. Would I move back, I'm not sure. I left for Amsterdam aged 25 and spent nearly ten years there. Taught myself Dutch and how to fend for myself. Moved to Cali three years ago and just about to start learning spanish. I'll tell you one thing though, I miss match days like you wouldn't believe.
Yet you two have been like peas in a pod over other issues/managers in the past. Let's please not turn a decent thread into a bickering match.
Well I'm proud to say I am a good old fashioned suffolk boy, I do have relatives living in Wroxham so they keep me abreast with some rumours from the budgie camp, one even does some work at carrot road so he can get hold of some juicy gossip now and again! but yeah, I'm born and bred here.
