Altidore is the biggest waste of space as a footballer I have seen in a long time. I CF that never scores.

He is that - Fonte and Lovren won everything against him though. I don`t understand how he got a start ahead of Fletcher.

Altidore won 10/15 aerial duels, Lovren won 1/7 and Fonte 4/7, not sure what game you were watching ;)

He didn't do much else admittedly, but he's definitely a handful in the air.

Before I read this, may I remind people that Jack Cork was questioning his own future at Saints about 6 weeks ago and, like the Spy, he felt as if he was out in the cold. It just shows you how things can quickly change in football. Jack is back, playing well, and if anyone might be giving up their place when Victor returns, it might just be Morgan. And that's how it should be. I want 3 quality players at least vying for two positions. Now to read the article.

Sounds like speculation, I wouldn't be hugely surprised though considering.

TBF, if Ramirez has nothing but swelling of the tissues then he's a very lucky lad indeed.

There you go, statistics and all that. I don`t remember him doing anything of note.

You could win only 1 aerial duel, but it would be all important in front of goal...not so much in the middle of the pitch.

Plus, the way we play means we often pick up the second ball after a forward has won a header. In other words, if a forward is isolated, you might as well let him win a header as there is nothing he can do with it.

Agree. Cork can't do much more to justify a starting place in the team and he and Schneiderlin are similar players, so the best of the two needs to play with Wanyama, who gives us a defensive edge. Maybe even drop Davis for Wanyama as he hasn't been great in the last few games.

Davis has been consistently good recently and he gives us that attacking edge that none of our other centre midfielders have.

I don't understand why people don't rate him.

I think people do rate him but you can only play 4 in midfield and Cork has been the outstanding player since he came back. I do agree though that apart from Lallana, Davis is the one who gets the furthest forward.

He's normally played as one of the attacking three behind Lambert, which is probably why; he's given much more licence to get forward than Wanyama, Cork or Schneiderlin.

We've been playing 4-3-3 with Davis on the right side of the midfield trio recently.

He's a good player. Always looks to pass it forwards rather than sideways or backwards like Cork. He's taking the set pieces too at the moment, picked up another assist against Sunderland.
