My thoughts entirely. Would be very happy with Williams, whilst Llambias or Purslow would put me very much on edge.
Do you think John Williams would get Steven Spielberg to direct our new 'persuasive DVD' to be played to prospective new signings?
Let's hope Katharina isn't one to be swayed by sharp suits and cheesy charm, and goes more for integrity and humility.
Seeing as she's just let Nicola pack his bags and depart, I guess she might be. She's not one for sharp suits and cheesy charm herself, it seens.
Not sure that Nicola was cheesy charm! Thing with him, he has the skill and talent to back up the ego. With those other two I'm not so sure.
Comment from a Rovers fan on Williams: "At Rovers he was good at keeping the books kind of balanced. Knew the importance of the fans. Made the odd mistake, but dealt with them, (e.g. Ince). Seemed to enjoy a good relationship with the managers and knew what a bunch of rats SEM were and quit as a result. "
Got a Rovers fan talking to me now, who says that Williams disagreed with it from the off and told the Walker family not to sell to them. When they went with it anyway, Williams resigned. Manchester City then took him on later.
I posed a question on the Daily Echo thread asking whether we were seeking a CEO for the long run, or an interim person to oversee any sell off, before I could get a response the thread disappeared mysteriously, does anyone know for sure?
Just to put the earlier thoughts to bed, Lenhart is well connected amongst UBS wealth management teams, so is definitely there in an advisory capacity to Katharina.
A write-up on Williams and his time at Blackburn from when he joined MCFC: http://www.manchestereveningnews.co...ws/smooth-operator-new-manchester-city-864038 Please can we have this guy and not the other two, thanks.
Yup, him please. Though I did have a horrible vision of Poch leaving in the summer and JW recommending "his friend Sam Allardyce".....
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25804054 BBC say Williams is set for the CEO role. Met Katharina last week and is the clear front runner.
Nabil's version of the same story http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25804054 DTLW you must have done that in 5 nanoseconds, you'll be pasting stuff before it's written next
