Tobes is on the Utd board and I think he'll back me up that here we were talking about when not if Moyes was taking over at OT well before last season because it was an open secret.
Believe it or not UIR, Charlton's quotes aren't the thing I'm dismissing most here. It's your theory that you think Mourinho would join United this season if Moyes was sacked and he was offered the job. Just brilliant.
What do you base it on Drogs? Let me say, he wouldnt join United during this season simply because of the huge compensation payments during a time we need to be making signings. Now thats not me saying 'he wont' because Ive never actually said he will join United this season. Just that given the chance, regardless of everything else. He'd choose to join United. Theres 100's of players who would join United if no other factors mattered. Transfer fee's, wages, compensation and the small matter of United actually wanting them. Thats the same with managers, Jose included. So stop getting all emotional. have yourself a glass of red and pick up a copy of OK! magazine.
Except no body at United knew nor did Moyes. No one at United nor Moyes knows even now looking at the way we are playing. Considering nobody new fergie was retiring until a few days before the announcement I call bullshit.
Players very rarely pick a club based on its history. In my opinion a players pick a club on: (1 being the most important) 1. Money 2. Location 3. Manager 4. Club
What do I base what on? I know you didn't say you think he will join, you seem to have changed your tune. You said you think he'd manage United if Moyes was sacked and he was approached - that was Purley's question and virtually what I aluded to in another thread. He may well manage United, I'm not saying that is unrealistic, I'm telling you he won't be joining you while under contract with us.
Stop being naive mate, Fergie obviously told the club well before he retired along with his friends etc and if you think he just decided to call it a day on the day he announced it you're seriously losing the plot.
Location means nothing these days. How far away from anything are you these days. Hours at most. Footballers also spend 8 months of the away from home working. They then go on holiday for a few weeks or for further work, away from home. 1. Money 2. Chance of silverware 3. Club 4. Manager. 3 and 4 change depending on the player. Some players dont care who is manager, other do. Money holds as much influence as the rest put together though, for a few more months anyway.
Well he wouldnt be under contract with you if he were managing us would he? He'd have paid himself out or United wuld have paid the compo.
So Crystal Palace make an over the top bid for a top European player and offer him more in wages than Rooney etc he'll go for it because Selhurst Park is in London?
I don't even know if you're just nitpicking or being stupid here? That's pretty obvious. I'm disputing the fact that this would even happen.
Of course he didnt, Fergie and his family would have known long before everyone else. Then the important people at the club and then the players. After this the world ( including Moyes ). You seriously think an outsider would have known before players and the important people behind the scenes? You can go back many years to the Moyes united link. Even back in the PNE days. I know its based around Moyes not signing a new contract but did he really have to? Had fergie not retired or someone else got the job, Moyes would have signed a deal and nobody would have said anything. Its just coincidence that fergie retired as Moyes was nearing the end of his deal. Harsh on Everton that they got no compo though. I'm sure watching Moyes at United more than makes up for the lack of compo mind.
Still enjoying your meltdown. I reckon most of your players would leave to join us. Even if we were relegated...
Oh come of it. If a player got paid the same wages, the same chance of winning silverware, but one club was based in London and the other manchester, do you really think he'll pick manchester? Easier to settle in London, more multicultural, better restaurants etc.. Zaha - “Rather bored. Any serious suggestions of what to do in Manchester?”
Told you UIR I think your being naive mate, Moyes knew he was leaving Everton for Utd before Fergie's retirement as did Neville, I know loads of blues that got onto Fergie's retirement before the news broke based on Moyer's activities at Goodison and his can't be arsed attitude towards the end of his time there. But as things stand the blueshite are laughing their bollocks that they've got a better manager with a better brand of football than Fergie's chosen one.
Like i said wages is the most important factor. If aguero had a choice between city and chelsea, do you honestly think he'd pick city? Quote from aguero in 2010 "Chelsea are a great club,'' Aguero was quoted as saying. ''They have become one of the most feared in Europe over recent years. London would be a really amazing city to live in as well - myself and my wife could be really happy there."
Manchester people are friendlier Manchester people are less fake Manchester, along with all of Northern England has a far better nightlife ( its changing however, the horrid southern ****e is edging closer ) Manchester is further away from France. Manchester isnt in the pansy South.
