You might have a point mate. daft as it sounds .......... they know they're inferior to City and that must hurt. They were top dogs for so long and are now the lost little mongrels I'd hate to go to Wembley and take a beating off Newcastle and don't mind admitting it.
I think city would prefer utd in the final, not just because of the rivalry, it's because it would be an easier game for them imo
Never mind the fans, can you imagine the **** Moyes will take if they go there and get a caning off City, go out of the Champions League at the first knockout hurdle, and find the FA Cup their only realistic chance of glory as they are out of the title race now for sure? Its a double edged sword for Moyes and you can see the pressure mounting. If we hold them at bay for the first 20 mins on Wednesday (I expect them to chuck the kitchen sink at us from the off) then their fans, unused to seeing an average Utd side struggle at home for decades, will go beserk. Its at that point that our 9000+ travelling army will come into play imo and be out 12th man.
Correct, I'll be on top form from the moment I arrive in Manchester and it can never be said I didn't do my bit
This exact scenario was put to me last week by my son who is a retired ManU fan. Gave up his season ticket 3 years ago for financial and family reasons saying he had done enough travelling and spent a fortune on them. Trips for EC ties and finals, Wembley etc had lost there shine for him - or as he put it "the law of diminishing pleasure". Coming from anybody else I would have taken it with a pinch of salt but he genuinely wants us to win the tie to avoid City in a one off final.
living in lancs i know a few utd fans dreading a meeting with city in a final at the moment. lets do thrm a favour and knock them out.
Can't believe Man U fans would ever hope to lose... Surely getting beaten off one of the best sides in the world in a final is less embarrassing than crashing out in the semis to a side who have spent the vast majority of the season stuck to the foot of the table? Tell you what though, I reckon the City fans will be praying for a Utd win. Big bad Sunderland are coming to give them nightmares again
I'd rather lose at home to Kidderminster than away at Newcastle in the derby .......... does that give you a clue
Swansea knocked them out of the FA cup! So their only realistic chance of silverware is the league cup!
Man u should be well up for the game. Yes there is a lot of pressure on Moyes and it will mount up if we get through or they lose in the final. But on the flip side if they do win, it gets Moyes off the mark and that it was against city will be a massive boost for them.
If utd were to get to the final and got beat off city, city fans would ****ing never let them hear the end of it! Reckon utd fans are ****ting it over that particular scenario...
The stakes would be high either way. The stick city would get for losing to a club in dissaray, for instance
