Amazing. What were the timings of our goals?

Remember it well, can't believe it was 17 years ago. Was watching this with some friends who just laughed at me when we were 4-1 down and I said there's still time to bring this back! Some very large drinks were put away that night

Remember it well. That wee Brazier cu*t was forever scoring own goals. He scored one the year before, our relegation season, and I felt like choking him. We were one up at home to Chelsea with just a few minutes to go and we managed to lose 1-2 with Brazier knocking one in for them. When he was walking off the pitch he was laughing and joking with one of their players. Its a pity one of our fans didn't get on the pitch and chin him that night.

    66 mins - Holwyn (og)
    85 mins - Impey
    88 mins - Murray
    90 mins - Spencer

If I remember that correctly he planted a header into our net from some distance out under next to no pressure. Furlong got their winner at the death. That result, more than any other imo, relegated us.

Remember this like yesterday and was still confident we would get something out of the game but my head was calling me a fool. I was laughed at most of the day but had a beaming smile at the end of the game.

I nearly did that when we drew 5-5 with Newcastle, if it didn't take so long to get a guinness I would have left at half time that day.

That's right. It almost looked deliberate.

Was it the Furs that scored for them? Bloody hell. I remember him scoring against us for the Brum aswell.

Yes Roller, that result set us on the road to relegation. United's injury time equaliser put the lid on it.

You can't leave it there Nordic, what is the full story?

Are you Norwegian and over for the match or are a "local" now an ex-pat? How did you then find out the story of our comeback?

I'm an ex- pat from Notting Hill. Spent 25 years following the R's up and down the country. Remember that game vividly. We were so poor first half that me and my buddies decided to leave so we could get home and go on a bender! Didn't find out the final result until we were back in the pub in Hammersmith. Gutted and learnt a valuable lesson. It ain't over Til the fat lady sings! URssssssss

No....Ray Wilkins and Mark Hately got us relegated....and SAF playing for 99 minutes until they won....always hate man Ure for that reason alone,

I can only imagine how you felt. I'm sure you weren't the only ones, and undoubtedly more drifted away as the second half wore on. At least with the Newcastle match we started the fight back earlier.

Do you ever get over to any matches these days?
