Is Brucie starting to worry you with his transfer dealings yet? 14m for two players who were out of contract in 6 months and now this alarming speculation. Brucie with a chequebook
why are you worrying about Bruce? Haven't you got to worry about your sparkling 'Glued to the bottom of the table' form?
What are you on about? Long had 18 months left and Jelavic also had 18 months. Who was in the last 6 months of their deal?
Not really. He spent f**k all getting us up and has bought quality in Hudd + Davies. We needed strikers to stay up (as you do). It is £14m including add-ons. What was Altidonkey price again £7m for 1 goal FFS
You've all fallen for his cunning plan. He posts some nonsensical f**kwittery, people point out he's a nonsensical f**kwit, then he giggles claiming to have got you all biting because you're touchy.
Not being funny, I'd like livermore here but I don't think he's done enough to warrant anything near that price range. How can he cost more than Thudd? I wouldn't pay more than £4million for him.
Funny, I was reading a thread regarding our signings on RTG (Sunlan forum) and most of them seemed stuck on the false info of them having 6 months left on their contract. A few of them pointed out that wasn’t the case at all but did nothing to change the general tide of opinion. Must be a brain thing up there.
I would've thought that Levy would know £10million can get you a quality midfielder (e.g. Erikson £9m this season), but then I also thought £14m could have bought us a quality, in-form striker (e.g.Wilfried Bony, £12m, 13 goals for Swans so far). So I clearly don't get transfer values and will trust in Brucie. The new strikers will need time to gel together or maybe even just to hit a bit of individual form but I'll judge their value at the end of the season (which is a luxury Steve Bruce doesn't have).
As I said on another post **** off and worry about your own **** team, **** all wrong with ours, except a mental owner.
Steve Bruce admits his double swoop for Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long is far from complete. Hull have agreed a £6.5million fee with Everton for Jelavic, but Bruce knows the Croatia striker will need persuading to move to Humberside when they meet on Monday. The Tigers will also meet West Brom’s £6.5m asking price for Shane Long -although it is understood the Republic of Ireland forward may prefer to see out the remaining six months of his contract. Although Hull will pay Everton an extra £1m if Jelavic helps them avoid relegation, Bruce is worried about being gazumped by rivals such as West Ham, Stoke and Championship promotion chasers QPR. “The difficult thing for me is that it [Hull's interest in Jelavic] is out there,” he said. “We hope we haven’t alerted anyone else and can still do the deal. But it is going to take time and persuading that this is the right platform for him.” New West Brom boss Pepe Mel is believed to be willing to sell Long and Hull also hope to speak to the Baggiesabout him on Monday. Bruce said: “There is a new manager who has gone in and there has been a conversation at boardroom level. "it never goes manager to manager now. I’m never privy to boardroom talk, but the indications are that we might have a chance.” Check out all the latest News, Sport & Celeb gossip at Mirror.co.uk http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...fers-long-jelavic-moves-3015704#ixzz2qver8lLf Follow us: @DailyMirror on Twitter | DailyMirror on Facebook ------------ Fair play on Jalavic but Long only had 6 months left.
West Brom had the option of automatically extending Long's contract by 12 months, which is the reason we had to still spend so much to get him.
