Whether Gyan is now on the transfer list or not, I think the club should come clean and let us know what's going on. If he's not going then give us a statement saying it is 100% sure he's staying. (Not like the "Jordan's happy here and he's not going anywhere" statement but a truthful one) If he's being offered to other clubs we should also be told. Decisions such as season ticket purchases need to be considered and if the club is selling off all the top players we have (Bent, Jordan and maybe Gyan) many will decide they've had enough, especially with replacements rumoured to be the likes of Gibson, N'Gog and other 'lesser' quality players. (That's probably the reason they are keeping quiet) What is the message we fans are to take from selling our best players? SB or SNQ should state publicly that Asa' is going nowhere. Poolie doesn't know what's what and must be having a right difficult time finding players to fill the current 10 or so vacancies without having to sort out a complete set of 4 strikers as well.
I can't see why the club should have to respond to every tabloid rumour....And regarding Gyan; was he really as good as people were making out last season?
Mr RAW, Off topic, but how do you add the message you have beneath your reply(Two teams that I support etc.)?
paulfraserecho Paul Fraser RT @sorourkeITV: #SAFC completely deny the Asamoah Gyan/email/available for transfer story. They're annoyed, but in shrug shoulders way. we would never put our only striker up for sale, it would be PR suicide!
As blackcatsteve pointed out, if you go to your profile and click on signature. I always seem to have a bit of bother reaching that section, and found that if you click on friends, then edit friends list, it will bring the whole drop down menu which will enable you to create/edit your signature.
From Quinn's mouth:- Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn has hit out at reports in this morning's media inferring that the club were proactively attempting to move on Asamoah Gyan. Such rumours have drawn the ire of the Stadium of Light chief, who took the rare step of issuing a statement. "I'm sorry that our fans have to read the endless speculation that appears in the press at this time of year," he told safc.com. "Normally we don't comment on any of it as there's so much - for instance we've been linked to over 40 players in the last month or so alone. "However, the suggestion that we have spoken to an agent to sell this player on our behalf is embarrassing to all concerned. "I hope our fans would be smart enough to realise that this is probably some other club or outside agents' way of attempting to destabilise our relationship with one of our players." Meanwhile the club remain active in the transfer market and are in talks with several potential summer acquisitions. Quinn added: "What I can say is that we are in a number of meaningful negotiations to bring players in and when there's anything definitive to report it will be on our club website for our fans to read."
Hate to say "I told you so" but what the ****, i did anyway. Typical press, they've got **** all truth to report or even any rumours as the market is dead right now so what do they do? as always, make something up.
Quinn's going to get even more of a backlash now if they do sell Gyan - even if it has nothing to do with these apparent e-mails.
