I was drinking Grants Whiskey and Old Jamaican Ginger Beer over Christmas. I rather enjoyed it, a little too much.
Aldi do a bloody superb ginger beer that is so cheap they almost give you money to take it off them. A dash of alcohol in that makes for a very warming drink, but tbh, it's that good on it's own. Of course, once I discovered this bargain I could never find it in stock again. I think it was something like 80 - 90p for 1.5ltrs.
Exactly what I thought yesterday. He did it on a couple of occasions, but there was one point where Rickie dispossessed a defender, controlled it [*cough* with his hand], and slid the ball perfectly to JRod. This was a ball he could done have anything with, so he did his usual thing of placing it to the keeper's left, along the ground, without sufficient speed or width. Keeper saved it. If he had leathered it, it might flown over the bar, but he had so much time to get himself properly balanced that I'm sure it would have gone in or bounced off the keeper. If it bounces off the keeper then it's just a bit of misfortune, but speed in a shot will often beat a keeper. Look at Johnson's goal.
The thing that irritated me about that one is that he had so much more time. Could have taken one or two touches, maybe gone round the defender, and had a much better angle to shoot from. He needs to work on his composure in situations like that I think, his shooting ability is actually very good, but he just tends to make the wrong decision.
Jayrod should have done better, but Rickie's pass was not the best. He played it straight to him when he was stationary. The pass should have been rolled a yard or two in front of Jayrod so he could move on to it and then hitting it first time would have been a good option.
Just got home from the game. Saints should have been out of sight by HT - we were very good. Cork and Davis were superb.
Ha-ha ! - no, I had a night out in South Shields with my son and his pals. To many drams last night. And ceratinly not with any lemonade !
Moments before his goal I commented out loud that Jay Rod's problem is that he can't finish What I meant to say (as his goal clearly ridiculed me!) was that if he has time to think, he can't finish - he is so much more clinical if the chance comes to him and he instinctively has to take it. No 7
TSS shame on you. When buying scotch there is only one rule and that is make sure it is a bloody good malt. Leave the lemonade for the children.
