The fact that we're spending so much time trying to figure out where/how to play Gerrard says it all.
I don't know what team he's on about haha. Also, how quiet has Anfield been this season? Under Rafa we had all sorts of crazy chants, nowadays we seem to just sit and wait to be entertained. Plus we need a Henderson chant!!!
Did you see his flick for the first goal? His long passes were second only to Gerrard yesterday. Hendo has improved 100% this season, and it's old hat to keep saying he just has a great engine. He plays better when Gerrard is not in the team, that's for sure.
Hendo has definitely come into own this season - I would have agreed that he is a work horse but he's added to his game this season. I think there are other players in the team tht require urgent upgrades.
Also, I know it's redundant but how good was our first goals - excellent passing, movement and great finish.
Alan Smith, above all others, is typical for this. In the head smash and the knee in the back of the leg incidents he initially said "Suarez diving for attention/ rolling around the floor trying to make the most of that" and when the evidence was (briefly) shown - not at all, in the case of the BBC - he weaselled that Suarez might have been fouled. The penalty was scrutinised (rightly) and contact was proven, but no such scrutiny was given to the elbow to Suarez's head, or to the fact that a Villa defender went down clutching his face because Sturridge angrily shoved his arm away. Christ, the back pages of the papers are full of the Suarez 'dive', and the Mail comments are full of how he also dived for Stoke pen last week (without any irony at all). As you say, this is manufactured reaction by opposing clubs, their supporters and the press to try and drive Luis out. Despicable.
Yeah Bacuna doing a Rivaldo seemed to go totally unnoticed yesterday. Collymore ranting on Twitter the bitter hasbeen woman beating ex footballer. His opinion matters why?
A lot of experts/pundits have agreed that it was a penalty - maybe a little soft but a definite penalty. Amazing the level of media attention this incident has received.
More, so much than the attention that was given to incident against Spurs when it was still 0-0 and Walker clearly tripped him in the box, but Luis still went on and tried to get a shot off on his knees. We must take it that James Lawton and the brass-necked internet village mob missed seeing that one through their one eye.
Spot on Pretty much exactly what i was saying earlier. Clearly Villa came with a plan to outmuscle us, not using bully as that would be disrespectful to Villa, but the ref offered very little protection to Suarez in particular, have re watched them first half and the were a lot of incorrect decisions. Teams used to do this to Arsenal and we need to find a way of fighting back. Preferably by not trying to con the ref but if that is the only way what other otions do we have?
dont think that one was a pen Donga to be honest, looked just outside to me, what made me laugh was the commentator said he fell over when he got fecking fouled, and still tried to get a shot away. amazing they ignore everything he tries to do right, and don't even want to highlight the disgusting challenges that normally go unpunished against him. even fans booing him when he gets fouled is starting to get boring now as it blatantly influences the ref, why is this ****e not highlighted in the press!
I totally agree but the dogs have been waiting for a controversial incident involving him, the hate aimed at him boarders on racism when you take into account British players dive on a regular basis yet don't get banner headlines on so called newspapers front pages.
No, it was nearly a yard in, and don't forget that the line is actually part of the box. don't forget, Mourinho wanted him booked for allowing himself to be fouled by Eto'o.
Got to admit i was wondering when this last happened as i could not remember, that is a definite positive, again if we had played like that last season we would have lost the game so a point whilst not great is better than nothing, and the recovery was pleasing. Villa did a good job yesterday and that should not be overlooked. Lets hope they play like that against our rivals and not like the first half of the arsenal game
he fell into the box, the initial challenge was just outside not even on the line, not a lot in it but it wasn't in, well i didn't think it was, you are making me doubt myself now you batard anyone got a youtube video of that game so we can analyse it to **** like everyone else seems to do with Luis lol
