Not sure if it's been posted, but: http://www.scotsman.com/sport/footb...lish-rangers-flunked-their-finances-1-3273646 But McCoist isn't to blame in any way http://www.scotsman.com/sport/footb...vious-regimes-blamed-for-money-woes-1-3273992 He's either got saturated fat for brains, which is possible, or he is fully aware that there's going to be another administration and this is him getting his excuses in ASAP.
McCoist looks and sounds naive but there is a point here. Normally, what happens is the board give the manager a budget for wages and transfer fees. If he stick within that, fine. We don't here news about Lennon spending too much because he wouldn't be allowed to. The buck stops with the guy who sets the budgets and signs the cheques. When the budget is reached, you stop signing the cheques: simples. What is interesting here is that this simple stuff does not appear to have happened at Ibrox. Why? Because the football club is a smokescreen for spivs to line their pockets? Because they were expecting money they didn't get? Because they don't understand 'O' Grade arithmetic? The Berrs need to be asking these questions, not poking sticks into the blubbery folds of fat Sal. He's a ****ing decoy FFS, can't anyone see that? A patsy, Lee Harvey ****in' Coisty. As per post above on the IPO: They need to ask why Rangers only got £10 million from a £22 million share issue. Why did costs raise to £6 million when the prospectus said £2.5 million? Why was Green et al allowed to take back every penny of the £5.5 million that they paid for the assets of the club? Why wasn't this in the prospectus? Why were the club allowed, unchallenged, to use the money for working capital (AKA subsidise running losses) when the prospectus expressly stated that this wouldnl't happen? This is one big con and it makes me sick. Even though it is the current buns.
I think they did ask questions at the agm but as long as green and co control the club they are ****ed. Anybody thinking Rangers will go back to the way they were is in a for a massive shock. The people in charge will milk every penny out of them and nobody can stop them.
It's too late to ask questions I reckon. The damage is done. They did **** all when Rangers went to the wall and it was both comedic and frustrating to know that they were being told stuff only for it to be completely ignored. It is only now they are coming to terms with using the dreaded L word. Even then it isn't in the way that most people would understand it. I was absolutely categoric that they wouldn't get caught a second time. I was wrong.
There isn't much they can do. If rangers fans boycott their club the asset strippers will just sink it. They don't care either way its all about the money to these people. Why McCoist backs these people is very strange as they aren't interested in helping rangers.
Whether it all comes out in the wash or not, McCoist is the absolute worst bastard they had the misfortune to TUPE over from Rangers. He sold every man jack of them down the river for thirty pieces of silver and he continues to do so. Lulling all the gullible hoards on board at the behest of Chico Green is the work of an absolute ****. Same goes for the guy with no surname. You mention the club getting sunk.....well.... You know what. Maybe that is what they need to happen. They don't accept that Rangers ceased to act as a club in 2012, so it would be a hell of a lot easier for them to start again "in the spirit" of Rangers (and adopt the mantra that it is a spiritual continuation of "club") than to sell the nonsensical clumpany argument. That way leads to a road "back". This way does not.
Rangers fans are like a battered woman. Take a vicious hiding from the man in their life (whichever crook is in the big chair at Ibrox) time and again but still hold out hope that one day he'll change for the better.
It's the fact that they can't even organise themselves into some sort of campaign group to demand change that baffles me. Say what you like about Celtic fans (all this Celtic Family pish etc.) but there's no way the Celtic fans would sit on their arses and allow their club to be run the way Rangers is. There would be protests (directed at the right people, not the perceived enemies of The Rangers), media campaigns, online campaigns etc.
They are the masochists of the fitba world. Some daft fannies still think those bus burners will stump up £20m out the good of their hearts.
There has been protests and many of them at Ibrox on match days. So what you want about Rangers fans, we are loyal and true, blue to the bone. We are, when all is said and done, the People.
Especially when you take into account that your average Jambo is a homeless AIDS ridden smack fiend...
