I think Brown showed yesterday he's a far better midfielder than Austin, and kept his cool in the face of three or four heavy challenges. Whereas he may have stood out when he was playing in Norway, Austin is out of his depth in this division, lacks technical ability and his shooting is even worse than Bradley Johnson's, which is quite an achievement. Brown deserves to keep his place, we always play better with him in the side, and we need to bring in Murphy to play alongside him. Maybe for a bit more creativity and to bolster midfield Mowatt could provide the answer, play with one out and out winger and have Byram at RWB with Peltier behind him. Outstanding team performance for the first 30 minutes, then for some reason the likes of Lees reverted to the long ball. Having Murphy and/or Mowatt in the side would provide a simple short ball outlet for the defence. Zaliukas is the better option than Lees for this. Kenny needs to go, far too slow. And although Pearce tries hard, he's not really of the quality required. Warnock on the other hand was outstanding. Lastly there's far too many people prepared to accept defeat because it was only by the odd goal, ive even read someone say it was "a good day all round." Unbelievable how a home defeat is looked at as a good result. We played well for half an hour but couldn't sustain it. It wasn't a good day by any stretch of the imagination, but an improvement none the less. Just need to press and hassle for the whole 90 minutes, and if we do we'll finish comfortably mid table with a sound base for a real push for promotion next season.
I had just put my chair away I will get it out again. TC I think shaks takes issue with you inferring he might be plastic. 15 all over to you.
Given my views on yesterday were so different from so many I have watched the game on catch up. I can see how the tele made our performance look fairly good and therefore how you were all thinking we were so much better. The one thing tele doesn't show is what is happening in the areas of the pitch where the ball isn't. On tele Kebe looked like he had a decent game, and Stewart looked a bit of a live wire. I am sorry to say I still maintain that this was a false impression, they were both terrible for the reasons stated yesterday. Tele shows lots of covering, but if you are watching you will see hardly a tackle made and no real pressing till they were in the final third. Perhaps I painted it a bit black yesterday however some of you should take off the rose tinted specs. Our league position reflects our real situation. If we don't win our next two home games make no mistake about it we will be in serious trouble.
Glory, after yesterday, the players restored some pride in the shirt; not difficult I know after the last two games. But progress it certainly was. BMD now has just over a week to get Kebe fully match fit given that he was touch and go as to whether or not he played. BMD also has just over a week to try and get in another striker who could at least start against Ipswich. He'd have to be better than Austin & Hunt, & would need to offer something different from Smith. Not an easy task to get someone at this time of year, but we'll see. Either way, I would expect us to put in a similar performance against Ipswich & I'd also expect a comfortable win.
He passed a fitness test in the morning, but apparently "touch and go". I think this goes to the heart of what BMD is trying to do. He wants to play with wingers, & maybe he feels that for the Championship leaders, Ariyibi wasn't quite ready.
Would rather starlet with fit players. Ehd, Aribibi, Byram wide with pelts at the back whatever It's a bit worrying that we have players apparently unable to think outside the regimented formations Brian chooses and can't retain the thought of previous formations.
No-one in the history of football has ever claimed they were intelligent. But it's about how a team performs ratehr than individuals, and if they can't do anything properly other than 442, then stick with 442. We were competitive and passionate and wanted the ball, and pressed hard. Despite dropping off second half, we still prevented them from having chances. My rose glasses are certainly tinted after that performance because I see what the team is capable of against the league leaders. They just have to maintain that desire for the rest of the season and we will be fine
Thank you, at last another person who agree's a home defeat is not a good result. We couldn't possibly keep pressing in the manner which we did for 90 minutes, the stamina needed for that would never be there, teams will just allow us to press and pick us off in the second half. Sorry Billy I can't argue with anyone who felt Kebe was outstanding today, we were watching totally different games in that case. I know we all have our own opinions but I really did feel he was awful Says the man with such rose tinted glasses he believes Stewart is unfit failing to realise the guy has played 18 times for Charlton.
You know what, we have a manager who is good for our club, and trying to push us on ... so let's NOT give him time, let's get rid of him and that Tory clown and when we're playing Kidderminster in the conference we can all reminisce about how bad McD was and how it was right to get rid of him and sign Brown to a long term deal ... I fcuking give up Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
The reason we lost yesterday ... and this is the ONLY reason ... is because McCormack was rubbish in front of goal ... sell the cnut now for a million Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
We can't fight the wallies. There will only be the usual 10 of them and five of them we have personally invited. Special emociations used on purpose for wallies
London scum beating surrey scum. If they cannot both lose and have their entire teams struck by lightening I hope chelscum absolutely humiliate them.
