http://www.tribalfootball.com/artic...-internacional-striker-leandro-damiao-1694661 Tottenham are in advanced talks with Internacional for striker Leandro Damiao. Tottenham have already had one bid turned down, believed to be around £10m, with Internacional holding out for around £14m. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp hopes to bring Leandro to London for the start of next season. talkSPORT says Sandro moved from Internacional to Tottenham in 2010 and Daniel Levy secured an affiliation with the club in the process - allowing Spurs to have first option on any future prospect - and he is confident of a similarly successful move for Damiao, with talks between the clubs set to continue.
Tottenham are close to concluding a £12m contract for Internacional's 21-year-old forward Leandro Damiao. Full story: Daily Mail
If we do sign him who will feel good? I know the hell that I will,a new face up front will do wonders for the morale of every Spurs supporter after last season's dull performances from our forwards. I would still like another though tbh.
As there ever been a bigger signing for Spurs than the next striker we sign, so much attention and emphasis on it from the club and fans. I agree with you MT, we need 2 new strikers, Leandro would be ideal as long as we get a more experienced one in as well. Gyan or Adebayor???
He's only 21, but has one full cap for Brazil already. As a general rule, Donkey's don't get to play for Brazil's national side.
Exactly, especially strikers and with the Copa America this summer his price could double if he has a good tournament so it's important we get him asap.
Good news,we've needed a new striker for a long time, prehaps it will the others raise thier game, must be pretty good to be in the national side
Good comment about a donkey Nowsuffering, made me chuckle. The problem that I have is that I would like RP to play. If push came to shove MAYBE Drogba over Gyan.
The reservation I have is that it takes a while for players coming into the PL to adjust to the speed of the game. We need to hit the ground running, let's hope if he does come he gets off to a good start. Has anybody seen him play? In clips he looks to be a Gilzean type player, now that would be good!
I have no reservation about him but I do a little about Gyan. I suppose it's because of the team he plays for now.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhkB3KAc_1I&feature=related I have seen a few clips of this guy on youtube, he seems a decent player. (everyone can be made to look good on youtube I know) but he chases the ball down and just makes sure he gets to everything. (based on what I've seen) I don't think we've had that from many of our strikers this season, really challenging for every ball. I am looking forward to seeing this guy in a spurs shirt (hopefully)
That's the problem - some 'great' players look great in a mediocre team, but then when they make the step-up they look inferior - just look at Torres
I'd heard before that we're not going to take him in this transfer window in order to let Inter keep him for the rest of their season, keeping them happy is crucial to us continuing to do business with them. I'd imagine he'll need the rest of the season to adjust too so I'm not expecting big things from him straight away. I guess this would mean that either Defoe or Crouch will be staying with an additional striker coming in. Trying to flog 3 strikers in this transfer window would've been a bit of a long shot anyway, especially with our track record of freezing players out until they lose all value and letting them go on the cheap.
Brazilian teams tend not to play in the EUROPEAN Champions League! Poor effort Edit: Wrong quote, was directed at the fan of the mighty Swindon.
