I am in the states at the moment. I come over here a fair bit with work. Last time was at the start of the season. I wore my Sunderland shirt out this morning. I had loads of Americans talking to me about Sunderland. Everyone over here seems to know who we are now. They all comment on how bad Altidore has been and how good he normally is for their national side. They are very worried about his form going into a world cup. I think the change in perception is interesting. There seems now to be a lot of respect for Sunderland now, so maybe even though Altidore has been a failure so far on the pitch but off the pitch it has certainly raised our profile over here in the US.
Nice to hear Vegas. ALtidore is a strange one, are we sure they aren't sending his twin brother over on the plane and keeping the real one cosseted somewhere to keep him safe?
Good to hear Vegas. Anything like that is always good news. Keep spreading the faith brother! Spread the word, Gus Poyet - the one true god!
That's great news. Football is really picking up in the States. Good to know we're becoming a household name so to speak.
I dearly wish you were talking about the wonderful season Altidore is having with our US cousins but sadly, for me anyway, he just isn't good enough. He simply never looks like he will score at any time, in any game I've seen him play. He just isn't a striker and isn't good enough to take a midfield place either. I desperately hope we can bring at least one striker this month, or it's going to be a long nerve crunching run to Mays final game.
Yep I am in Vegas, don't hate me but I took my brother to the AVN porn award for his birthday. Spoken to loads of people today about "Soccer" it seems to be getting very popular and Sunderland are one of the teams people are starting to follow so a big thumbs up to Ellis on that one.
