Let's say we win tomorrow, we'd be just one position worse. Is it all that bad considering we don't have two teams as weak as QPR and Reading who gifted the others clubs points?

Considering we had 21 points half way through the season, I can see us doing better in the last part. Our form has been improving despite injuries and when our most important players return, I expect a increase of points. I can see us taking a total of 23-30 points with less matches and a larger squad (players back form injuries). That would put us in the middle of the table...

    Minimum 44 points...

Well we can see this year the division is VERY tight. No whipping boys ah la QPR & Reading. Anybody from 10th down could get relegated, the big thing now is after tomorrow's game even if we lose at worse we could be 15th after WBA play.

We're then into the games where points should be forthcoming, to me the Fulham & Cardiff games are the crucial one's in the up and coming weeks. Win these two and were on our way, to getting into mid table safety.

Gents it's never easy watching the Swans, we don't make it easy on ourselves. Onwards and Upwards.

Im looking at the bottom clubs last season to this season and its not as clear cut as it was last season. We had 30 points last season and had a nice cushion and this season there are no cushion but more teams in the mix. that has to be to our advantage..

It could well be to our advantage Dai, it looks tighter up the top as well but I see a distinct gap appearing between say 10th and those places above... Amazing what a bit of BT cash can do for the established regulars.

yes fair play to the saints they are in between the top clubs and the bottom clubs but i still don't put them in the mix at the bottom and are safe. Its a very exciting season to be honest but i wish we had a few more wins under our belt...

Well at first I didn't think we missed Michu as he was off form, I think I was wrong... I know think we miss the fit and healthy Michu so preying he comes back fully recovered from surgery. I think he may be a good playmaker, a link up for Bony as the Spaniard so good with work rate and has better vision.

Freegame tomorrow , everyone from 10th down has played , except West Bromm, and we never got closer to 18th place .

It is indeed a freak season. I don't know what effect that's gonna have on the points total required to stay up. I reckon we can get another 20 points from the games left and that would have us on 41. Unless I'm mistaken, only once has a team gone down on 41 and that was on goal difference (or even goals scored). That was 4 years ago.

As I said, the 'freak' element to this season could do anything to that total.

I think that it was the 27/28 season when any one of the eleven teams in the bottom half could get relegated from the top division going into the last day.

That was in the days of only two teams relegated and two points for a win.

Don't panic lads.My Relegation Watch thread on the Norwich has not featured Swansea and I just don't see it.My current reckoning is that 18th spot will have 36/7 points, but if anything I see that falling. If you look at 18,19 and 20 they have all taken 18 points from 22games.even if they get the same from the other 16 that only leaves them on 36. 4wins and 4 draws from your last 16 will se you safe.

So things were very close between teams in 1927 , was wondering how Cardiff won an FA Cup, now I know !

Depending how the next 3 results go i may have to revise my generous 39 points to just about 30 or even less and that would mean relegation. we have the worst form of the lot now...

It will be interesting to see what points the bottom 3 get relegated with this season. I agree with Cruyff that I think it will be around the 36/37 point mark. Surely we can get above that.

Despite the Spurs result I still hold with my 43 point minimum prediction. If Wilf can hold his form and Michu can find his old form when he returns we will get the goals to get the points.

46 / 47 points. I predicted at the start of the season a 48 point target , and based upon fixtures we are are only 1 point below that target (as I had us on 22 points after the spurs game). Agree that next 4 games are CRUNCH ones though...we must target at least 7 or 8 points at the very minimum. Whatever we do less than that, will have to be deducted from my 46/47 point forecast.

Rest of season: HOME matches> Fulham, Scummers , Palace , West Brom, Norwich, Villa , Southampton....all winable games and all at HOME !!

And if we can average 1 point a game for the following away games against Hammers, Stoke, Hull, Sunderland and Newcastle , we should hopefully pick up enough points to be OK. (if we could get one win, and two draws, or even four/five draws...all will be ok)

The remaining games are away V Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton and chelsea (Home), I have us getting Zero points in total from these...but if we could pick up anything in these matches...BONUS !!

The problem is that we've only won two home league matches so far this season. That doesn't bode well for suddenly winning 7. Yes, they are winnable, but that doesn't mean we'll win them. We really need to beat Fulham next week. Lose that and I think we'll get relegated. That 20-1 on offer a while back is starting to look very good. Down to about 7-1 now.
