Man City - RANT - against the best home side in Europe, we scored more goals, and created more chances than we did at Villa, Norwich, Stoke and Palace put together. If we had played like that - and tried to attack- at those places we would be in mid-table now. I went to three of those places, but gave up even attempting to get tickets for away games after the Palace debacle, because I could not stand the tactics.
Conclusion: Malky could still be responsible for getting us relegated.
Oh, let's all sing a nice song supporting Malky! My God - it makes me weep, and don't get me started on the money he wasted.
If we play anywhere near that style over the next four months we might actually win some games of football (during Malky's last 30 games in charge, from the end of February, we won six games!!! - check it if you like).
I am so angry after seeing what we could have been playing like away from home, instead of the dross we have been dished up before.

Cheer up Iggy, forget about MM, he's gone, look forward to this style week in, week out.
OGS is our only hope of a jailbreak now.

A very true assessment, Villa Stoke and Palace were all winnable games if they were played with any sort of attacking intent. Noone has been excellent since getting into the team and it raises the ? as to why he was not being played sooner.

It never fails to amaze me how quick fans condemn a manager who got you to the premiership in the first place and beat man city and others in the first half of the season before tan messed things up with his interfering...Malky is a good manager and you would have done better with him if it was not for the bull he had to put up with from tan.

What should fail to amaze you is how can we beat Man City at home and then slowly but surely drop deeper and deeper in games we should have won.

That is the point, why were such useless tactics deployed at all.

Leaving Noone out for so long was also another brilliant master stroke.

Thank god today we played how we should be playing.

Agree. I'm utterly sick of the anti Malky tirade. Can we please move on? We did well today, yes, and there are positives, but we lost, and could have lost by more.

I am not quick to condemn a manager - I always hated his style of football and mental attitude. Never mind the fist pump and conning the fans into thinking he was some sort of Messiah who was struggling with inadequate resources of £40 million or so (£50 million if you include the Championship money - mostly wasted) against the evil red Tan.
In Malky's last 30 games (from the end of February till his departure) we played thirty games and won six! That is hardly a temporary dip in form that occurred because of Tan. We won a poor league when nobody else could cross the line - thank God they all kept losing around us. Did you see the way we played the previous season? Mind-numbing - bring back Dave Jones!
As for the 'Malky's team is well-organised' myth (another one trotted out regularly) ... in that case why had only one other Premiership team conceded more goals than us when he left? Lesson - if you set out to defend a lot, other teams will attack you a lot and score goals. It's quite simple really.
It was always three points for a win Malky - somebody should have told you!
I'd be amazed to see Malky walk back in to a decent job - even if the only qualification for football management seems to be the sack from a previous position. Given a choice between him and Dave Jones???? Imagine what Dave Jones could have done with £10 million a few years ago - instead of having his best player sold from under him every season, and struggling under a transfer embargo. And even then, despite weaknesses, at least we saw some entertaining footie on a regular basis - not just once every two months.

Interesting you should pipe up here Dai. You constantly state that ML should be sacked by Swansea because his record has not been good enough and the League Cup doesn't make up for that. MM got us promoted but had a far worse record than ML, yet you think we should have kept him. Obviously you have been conned by the evil dictator mantra.

We are back on track trying to win games. Tan should now settle with Malky the compensation he is owed in respect for getting us promoted. Championship tactics do not work in this league.

We need nearly an 80% improvement in winning games now to stay up.

I dread to think what Dave Jones would have done with £10m.

Probably would have bought rubbish like Bywater , Jay Lloyd Samuel , JET , Eddie etc.

He was backed heavily and was a failure who should have been sacked years earlier.

Theres still this myth that he worked on a budget.

He had the best young player we had in a generation and he failed to use him. Preferring Steve Mcphail.<doh>

    Treated another Matthews appallingly.

Malky cleared up Jones shambles and within 2 years got us up.

Hes made mistakes but deserves respect. Best manager ive seen at the club and in a different league to 4 4 2 arms folded Dave Jones.

    In my opinion of course.:)

The complaint is not about the championship or the early results in the premiership, everyone was backing him but the slowly but surely he started using very negative tactics sitting deeper and deeper allowing sides to attack us easily.

Kerslake took over and right away started to put things right but it should never have needed putting right. Having played all the teams in this division we know for certain we should have won more than four games.

Too right he was told by Tan to attack more and play our best players he refused to listen because he knew better than all of us.

He was here to do a job and when he failed he was sacked as every other manager would be.

From the obscure post at Watford he was handed a great chance but the premier league was a step too far too soon for him.

Now we need Ole to get us out of the mess he left us in, one point of relegation rather than comfortable in mid table. When you are doing a good job you get the credit but when you are doing a bad job you get the blame.

Are you seriously saying Tan & 'All of us' should have been telling the manager what to do???

I don't know about Tan but I've been telling the manager(of the time) what to do for years and years, but he never listened until it was too late <laugh>
