Yup, some workable alternatives there J91. Lookin alright. Factor in Downing and you've got some genuine left sided width too. I think this might be Kuyt's season to come off the bench more - so that the three in a 4-3-3 might look more like SUAREZ - CARROL - LW (DOWNING, I hope). The more compact 4-4-2 (using mix of Adam, Stevie, Meireles, Lucas, Henderson, Maxi, Spearing, Shelvey) will rely on the FB's scampering up the line. It can't have escaped KK's notice, young Kelly whipping 'em from the left and right. He was probably as surprised as we were! This might dictate what sort of fullback he'll buy too.
Latest update on the transfer is that a fee has been verbally agreed but now the chairman is ignoring calls on his mobile from LFC as they need permission to talk to player and arrange a medical. Charlie Adams has said he wants to come to Liverpool. Chairman is believed to be holding out for bigger bids but is losing the battle.
Their chairman has said ''preliminary discussions'' have been made,However there is nothing concrete as of yet. They are refusing to comment at the moment,I would reckon so are Liverpool until they have something to say themselves.
AA won't be back Redconn, sorry mate. He has absolutely no love nor intention to play for us again. He's said as much. Why would you want him back?
When United are on top, it is very VERY easy for Carrick, when UNited are feeling the pressure he is anonymous and even his passing under pressure is not newhere near up to scratch. He gets brain farts when under pressure and I think he just has not got that big challenge mentality and has not progressed at United the way Fergie hoped he would, remember he is playing where Roy Keane played, being in the same sentence is as close as he'll get to roy, and that is the last time I will ever put the two names in one sentence
I understand that Holloway, the player himself, former club Rangers and co owner of blackpool ( some european chaps whose names evades me ) are all due a percentage of the fee, hence why every tom dick and Ollie at Blackpool are trying to inflate the fee and hold off for what they can.
I think we should play brinkmanship with this guy. i realy think if kenny wants him then he should leave it till august and bid miserably. .......................................... QUESTIONS; 1. happy harry the used car merchant form down london way reputedly stayed in his office on transfer deadline day trying to by mr adam for 12million. Where is this spiv this week? wheres the bid? 2. Where is ferguson with his pot stirring 10million rubbish? wheres he now he needs to replace scholes. 3. do blackpool realise they are in the championship next year? In light of my opinions on the answers to all of these questions i FIRMLY beleive that if we concentrate on no 1 priority areas and leave this guy until august 31st and bid 2mil we'd nearly get him.... if we leave him there til january he'll not be cup tied and we can get him for 2mil for SURE. This smacks of crouch and pennet signings where we paid over the odds for average players who were relegated.... .and they are average prem players don't get me started.... pay 10 mil for quality like merieles etc, not adam.
Awesome post! I'd give that a go. we're currently wasting time playing silly buggers with amatuers like Oyston & Holloway when we desprately need wingers. I was speaking to feint zebra (RAWK & Twitter kopite) yesterday and basically said that we should end all interest in him (this was just after sending Charlie Adam a tweet about looking around car boot sales for golf clubs) and look to sort out a deal with Real Madrid for Gago instead
gago does seem available. Henderson was going to the u21 championships so we moved in fast to get him before the fee went up/other interest... thats makes sense. what are we worried about with adam that we want this deal done this soon? spurs? utd? surely if mata or jeffren are in any way real links we would have moved as fast on them... are we watching the u21s to be more sure on them? i hope not.
I don't get it Redconn, serious. For a maximum of twenty mins of two matches in a red shirt he looked an elegant and assured player...not ground-splitting passing - but short balls on the edge, pretty good movement. Very little in the way of shooting, tackling, penetration. (I think even his goal was scuffed wasn't it?). Couldn't hold onto the ball - physical challenge too much for a man too slight and used to so much space in Italy...the player himself learnt this much himself - and VERY quickly. It was there for the all the world to see. So...what we lookin at - ONE HALF of premiership football - to an average (premiership) standard? 40 mins? But all this of this pales into insignificance. I, for one, am insulted. The guy DOES NOT WANT LFC. Therefore we DO NOT want him. He's been gone the day of the loan switch.
I think he's class and would fit in perfectly with pass and move football. I watched him play in the Italy Germany match and wished Hodgson hadn't sent him away. The lad's passing is exceptional. So we disagree is all.
