I only remember Barmby's team playing great football but him not being given any money to spend. Some people have shocking memories, they think AA broke the bank to get SB when in SB's words he paid him a 1988 wage.
So you're willing to sell your soul on the off-chance you 'hopefully' get a 'bit longer' in the precious Premier League? If you support a football club, you want them to be the best they can. However, you want to achieve certain goals whilst a) living within your means, and b) retaining the club's integrity and the respect of other clubs and supporters. Our current 'success' (if top-flight mediocrity can be called such) has been the result of us - or rather, Mr Allam - willingly opting not to comply with those two points. For that I hate him. Given you don't share my opinion, why not simply subscribe to SKY or purchase a season-ticket at The Etihad?
If all anyone wants to do is make money.....and you have millions to invest then you sure wouldn't invest it in football. Mr Allam could have opened a pay day loans company and made far more then a feeble 5% In my opinion its not about Mr Allam trying to make money. Then again there's nothing wrong if he does make money. I am sure those who are not that bothered about the name change realise that Not606. HULL CITY is now Really CTWD-NOT606 HULL CITY. Looking forward to the FA stating NO to Hull Tigers or YES to Hull Tigers. Either way I will still be going next season no matter what Even if we end up the non league. The worst thing to me is Mr Allams threat to piss off if its no to Hull Tigers Because he should accept what the FA say just as I will. Why will I accept it ? Because I am Hull City till I die and I will be Hull Tigers till I die IF need be. Its NOT a new club in my opinion .....just a little name change. No idea what the view would have been of my granddad.....a Hull City supporter would be or what my dads view would be.another Hull City supporter. ( not here now ) My dad would be more worried about money I'm sure.. Im not that bothered either way. My nephew Likes the name change. My niece hates it. 4 generations of HULL CITY supporters.. Theres loyal fans on all Sides of the debate. FACT. my daughter would have been a 5tth generation but her mums from Gateshead and try as I did she supports Newcastle United like her mum...grrrrrr Daughter lives in Gateshead also and works in Newcastle . The biggest lie /myth is your not a real fan if your not CTWD.. OR dead against it..
"Because I am Hull City till I die and I will be Hull Tigers till I die IF need be." That sounds like "I am Hull City till the name changes......."
The fact you even have doubts says a lot about the man. He is a proven liar and his petulance regarding this issue over the past six months has made him a hate figure and laughing stock to football fans around the world. Even if I wanted a name-change, I'd be uncomfortable with such a man being in charge of my beloved club.
But Stuart to me its the same club always supported.. But With a stupid name change.. It will be the same manager Same players Same stadium Playing at the same stadium Different opinions that All.
Really? http://forums.rlfans.com/viewforum.php?tsmp=1390057838&f=34&sid=9347aee9b6e869cf82bb155c773ca8d6 See ya
Haha! Fair play. Not living in hull I often forget that saying you support hull is an automatic reference to egg chasers!
Managers come and go. Players come and go. Stadiums come and go. Club colours ,club names and club heritage do not.
Seriously Eric I couldn't give a **** if he walks. Not after that threat.... I'll still turn up for home games if we end up non league... Can't travel to away games at present. :-(
The thing is Filey, he didn't invest in Hull City to make money from football, he invested to make money from being given the ground and surrounding land and building on it. Just the same as Bartlett did. Why do you think he is investing in North Ferriby? They are on the up and soon will need to upgrade their ground or move to a new one. What happens to the Church Road land if they move, and who will own it?
Ah yes, the sell up at the end of the season comments - yes we'll get sold to that buyer who was going to buy us just before Allam, oh what do you mean there wasn't a second prospective buyer competing against Allam to get their hands on this club (so can we stop this "I know this person, who I can't say on here, who would" as where were they a few seasons ago). And as for getting the loan from the bank, exactly what can we secure said £70 million loan against (Is even the KC worth that). And thirdly name any football club owner (apart from Roman and he is worth a huge number of times more than Allam) who has given £70 million as a non-returnable, non interest payment,
