We're still in this but we shouldn't be. AJ is trying to do too much yet again and missed the chance to play someone into a dangerous twice by trying to dribble through 3 men. Wasteful. We're not going to get many chances AJ needs to start spotting the runs. He's playing for himself.
certainly wouldnt trust Ki to protect the back four by himself, proven that he cant early on in the season. Ki needs to push higher
The only good news is that Southampton can't keep sprinting like that for the whole game ............... we were totally overran. Giacherrini is bound to come on at some point so we can keep the ball in their half. Be crazy if we get a result after that start but it's possible.
AJ has no one to pass to. He is doing his best. We were a shamble the first half and we weren't involved. On a positive we are still in this. Gus needs to earn his money at half time.
I would go for Colback for Catts and Fletch for Larsson - we are getting battered in midfield as it is and Catts is a red card waiting to happen.
Poyet has said we will stick to his footballing method when the chips are down and I'm glad we are. I would go Giaccherini for Larsson, Colback for Cattermole. Look to replace Altidore with Fletcher later in the game.
