Like it or not, I'm posting this yet again.

"Football, at least within this country, is not a business like any other. Football fans are without doubt paying customers of a football club but in no other mode of business are the customers so emotionally caught up in the company they are dealing with and the product they are receiving. It is quite conceivable that the 74 year old, Egyptian born business man could change the name of the generator company that made his millions, and experience the benefits of a more marketable moniker. That is simply not the case with a football club that have played under their current name since 1904.
There can be no benefit in naming Hull City anything other than that, to market it more globally, if in so doing their bread and butter fans – the ones who live in Hull, buy tickets, programmes, food and merchandise – are alienated by the move.
A football club is a matter of family history, tradition and tribalism. A name gives it identity and continuity as it is passed from parent to child. A name gains value from the repetition, people know what is being spoken of and what is to be expected of it. If you blindfolded a group of people and asked them to sniff a rose, but named it as some new variety of flower, and compare its scent on a scale of one to ten, to the scent of a rose would they say it smells the same? Does a rose by any other name smell as sweet? That could be a very interesting psychological experiment.
Foreign owners such as Allam and Vincent Tan at Cardiff are ditching our game’s rich tapestries in the blink of an eye, with no apparent understanding for the industry in which they are operating. Given their financial dependency on their owner, it would be quite understandable if Hull City fans did not agree, but I believe English football would be much better off if all the club owners who know the price of everything and the value of nothing, did disappear from the game in the next 24 hours.
Does a football club abandoning its heritage, to whatever end smell, as sweet? No it does not. In fact it stinks."

    That's your opinion

    Not mine.

Its also NOT the opinion of the majority because the majority of supporters inside the kc stadium aren't that bothered about the name change.

As I've said before....Boycott a game and let's see how many fail to turn up

But like CTWD have replied...they won't ( dare not ) do that because the ground will still be full

Abramovich is a different ball game. When Coates took over at Stoke the debts were £5M

Allam has borrowed most of the cash he's put into Hull. He's therefore being charged interest for that privilege & probably at a rate not dissimilar to what he's passing on to the football club. To say it's not his cash is disingenuous, as the liability is 100% his! as it's secured against his other business.

Aquity, Just to show you support , all you`ll get on this forum is a slagging from the so called CTWD Allam hating supporters, sat at home behind computers, on the hunt for anti CTWD supporters,Hey mate they have nothing else better to do.Look at us buddy on the way to watch a good prem team best in history, having a few(a lot) beer`s enjoying it,Fecking fantastic what more in life do you wan`t.
Us true supporters who support the club, the manager, and the owners are on our way , about an hour away from the lord rosberry pub 5 min`s from the ground, come for a pint and see for yourself how many CTWD supporters are with us,you might find the 2-3 old boy`s playing domino`s in the corner lol.
Infact were all fed up of hearing about it, we just want to watch and enjoy our team.Showing the lad`s your post, some of the responces your getting are laughable. You,ve got that crab guy who think`s he`s Allam accountant and the greengroser who want`s the club sold,FFS get a life, and enjoy what we`ve nver had before..The truth is CTWD are a very small minority, but there the ones making all the noise, although it look`s like that`s all changing now. Were having a bit of a lagh the way CTWD think there the backbone of the Tigers,They would all fit in Ferribys ground with room for more .By the way most of us on the coach are no spring chicken`s and weve been supporters and pass holders for years.
To all you Gramma detectives( there`s plenty on this site) - I know my spelling and grammar isn`t that great,it`s not easy when half cut typing on a G/note on a coach anyhow wont be back on this CTWD forum anyway.CTWD:emoticon-0172-mooni:emoticon-0172-mooni Have a good day Kilham tigers.UTT<cheers>

Maybe your point is not worth responding to ? Just a thought.

As a long term fan, you should know that many of the new fans who come to watch us are not real fans, and as such they don't have strong or reliable opinions.

If we folded tomorrow, they wouldn't shed a tear- they'd go back to supporting LUFC, MUFC etc

We shouldn't have to boycott. We;ve bought tickets before all this happened and we're still hcafc.

Anyway, a boycott won't do anything because it plays into his hands, ie no protesters, no CTWD in the 19th minute.

Protests need to be seen to get the point across.

Enjoy it while you can. The owner wants to wind up Hull City and start a new team in its place,

Come and join the Save the Tigers side of the argument.

Do you really wanna follow 'I'm not bothered, me. Franchise available for hire FC' brigade?

Whilst it is all very well slating Assem Allam for charging interest, it has to be set against the fact that without these loans we would not have the ability to sit and enjoy the success on the field that we currently have. Ou cannot have your cake and eat it.

There is me thinking he wants continual improvement, year on year success, future income to sustain this, top flight football, and a proud city.

Those of you who want bankrupt mediocrity are welcome to it.

I wouldn't do it his way, but his way is better than the highway.

    Show some balls, man.

Where was he until about 5 years ago?

Where was he when we were ****?

Cos he splashes the cash, do you have to roll over and and have your stomach tickled?

Do you accept every bit of bullshit he spouts and just shrug your shoulders?

Hull Tampax is on the cards because of people with your attitude.

Do you not think that Assem Allam could get 5% interest for his 80 million from a bank with virtually no risk? I can get 2-3% on my small savings when I shop around. Money makes money. Invested wisely he could get 3 and 4 times the 5 percent he is getting from us. That's including a keeping his 80 million safe. The 80 million he has in our club is not safe.

No bank would have loaned our club the money Dr Allam put into our club 3 years ago, to suggest he has done nothing for our club is laughable. Assem Allam has delievered on his promise to save the club and get us in the premiership. He is now doing his best to keep us there. So as the thread title says, Thank you Dr Allam and Steve Bruce!
