That's very decent of you FLT, and it's what we have come to expect from members of this forum. Unfortunately, the WUM wasn't prepared to do the same thing.

Michael Schumacher's representatives have said that he is in a 'stable' condition, still in a coma. No mention of 'critical'.

The absence of the word critical only means he isn't at risk of dying imminently...does not regrettably suggest he is not seriously ill. A patient in a 30 year coma may not be described as critical.

Has he been 'removed'? I'm all for freedom of expression, but in all honesty there comes a point where it's offering nothing at all and just basically being idiotic. I'm sure there's a TSS line that's crossable there.

I'm all for it. If someone is being a mouthy dickhead and upsetting people down the pub you'll kick him out, no reason why here can't work in a similar way if it's as persistent as it was with him.

Yeah, to be honest it's a bit of a nothing statement that's obviously been released to try and quell some of the simmering rumours about the place.

Yeah he has gone, anyone can think what they like of course, but it failed what I am calling "GMI sniff test", because the board got dragged down by his posts.

Trix is on a (Saints board only) ban btw, for trying to wind up when Cortese was about to leave. I might unban some time, not sure yet.

Yes, he has been removed. I looked at all of his posts for the past couple of weeks. He was conspicuous by his absence until just the other day, when he turned up with his one unquenchable subject and would not see compromise or reason or acknowledge that there might be another opinion worth noting. His messages were worded to produce maximum adverse effect. He would then go away, only to return with a new tack on his chosen single subject, with a new thread, despite our request of posters to keep the new Cortese/Liebherr threads down to one or two, or to PM us before posting a new one, while the forum was going through a period of high traffic.

Incidentally, few single topic threads keep high traffic moving slowly but without straining the system, so there was logic to our decision. We didn't want the forum to fall over on the day of all days when people wanted to find out information and exchange views.

BTW, has all that described in the first paragraph pointed to WUM behaviour..? We thought so and so did the Supermods.

Oops. I just started an unnecessary new thread btw. Sorry! There's been so much about it all I wasn't entirely sure where to put it, and thought it was an article offering a different shade of light on things. Please merge it somewhere appropriate!

I honestly couldn't work out if he was a WUM on a mission, or just utterly batshit.

Well, we have got over the hump of traffic, so it's not really so much of a problem now. The aim is to guide, not dictate. ;)

Just finished reading Mark Halsey's autobiography and there are some very high ranked people in the refereeing world who have not come out of that well at all. It seems as if Halsey was very poorly treated. Reading that book really makes me wonder if there's any point progressing as a referee if some referees are given preferential treatment by the PGMOL. Why does bloody politics have to influence everything?

My mother used to say that I should try harder to be nice but she always ended up saying I was trying, very trying.

On the topic of films, the most recent I watched was Spirited Away. Anyone else seen that? I'm pretty sure it was brilliant, but it was also extremely ****ing weird.
