    McGregor - £1.5 mil
    Figueroa - Free
    Davies £2.5 mil
    Faye - Free
    Harper - Free
    Bruce - Free
    Huddlestone - £5 mil
    Meyler - £1.5 mil
Livermore - Will Be £3.5 mil
    Quinn - £100k
    Elmo - £2mil
    Boyd - £500k
    Aluko - Free
    Brady - £2.2 mil
    Sagbo - £1.8 mil
    Proschwitz - £1 mil

And now Jelavic & Long. Of the aforementioned, only one could be described as a poor piece of business, and some are remarkable value (McGregor, Davies, Huddlestone, Livemore, Quinn, Aluko, etc), so you'll have to forgive us for having a little bit of faith in Brucey. <ok>

Stokoe , he won our last trophy.
    Reid , best league finish (x 2)
    Gus , the future.

I wouldn't have Bruce as one of our top 3 bosses in the last 5 years let alone 50.

It is amazing how managers performances can change from club to club.Nigel Pearson seems a decent leader of clubs given the chance.
Some clubs seem cursed with players/managers deteriorating when they go there.Managers go to Leeds to reawaken the giant and it ends "belly up" with the sack

No idea why Hull are obsessed with Leeds but they're twice the club tbh ............. one day they'll be above Hull again and the Premier League will be better for it tbh.

I don't know one Sunderland supporter who wouldn't want Leeds to swap places with Hull and have those epic matches again.

The way it's going there's a decent chance you'll have those epic matches back next season, in the Championship. <ok>

The way it's going we'll be fine, read the current form and you'll see that, by the time you come to Sunderland, we'll be going above you <ok>

It's also inevitable that a club the size of Leeds will be back in the Premier League sooner or later.

They're the biggest club outside tbh, in my opinion.

Don't blame you at all, doesn't mean he doesn't have a history of really dodgy signings at previous clubs though does it? I know you have faith in him, but contentious wumming from some of your counterparts over our factual experiences is just going make us laugh more if/when he gets let loose with substantial sums (like 6m for an average premiership striker with just 3 months left on his contract)

Dead easy to defend him when your transfer record is only 5.5m, but that says more about the board than it does Bruce's bushiness. We've had first hand experience of him squandering massive transfer budgets. If you lot can't accept our views you can clear off, you've asked our opinions, accept them.

These Hull fans baffle me like, 6 points above with one of the worst run-ins and going on like they have summat.

I do think Hull will stay up, but they will never grow, cos it's a **** club, in a **** town with **** access, owned by a ****ing imbecile with a huge self superiority complex that will explode, inevitably, at some point.

The Hull lads seemed sound last time they were up, had a good session on the drink with some around Seaburn, seems they have all turned into tedious ****ing idiots.

They went as silent as Ken Wagstaffe's farts when they went down last time after shouting the odds all season.

They're so ****ing touchy at any mention of Hull .......... I've never seen fans with such a chip on their shoulder.

They just can't handle a bit of harmless piss taking can they?

To be fair, teams like ourselves and Hull have to pay well over the odds to get players in who will, at best, improve our squads slightly! Especially if they are bought from fellow premier league teams!

Well the way things are going, you'll be re-living that epic match again next season in the Championship.
And have a more evenly balanced rivalry with your great mates Middlesbrough to boot.

Do any of these imbeciles have anything original to say? Or has the hull poverty line forced them to share the same comment.

YOU'RE 6 POINTS OF BOTTOM! THINGS HAVE CHANGED! EVERYONE IS CATCHING YOU INCLUDING 'DEAD AND BURRIED' SUNDERLAND! YOU'RE GOING DOWN! <party>

Since the 1974/5 season (my first) the top 3 managers are simple and in order of importance they are:

    1. Denis Smith - without a shadow of a doubt, if it were not for Dennis there simply wouldn't be a SAFC today imo, as we could have just disappeared like so many former giants in the history of the game did, after our 3rd division drop in the mid 80's. He will always have a place in my heart for what he achieved and with a twopence ha'penny budget to work with. Successive promotions to the the top flight and given a better financial situation, I think he could have built something very special at the club. A top, top bloke as well and I have been very fortunate to have met him a few times over the years.

    2. Peter Reid - Gave us the best football in the top flight that I have seen in my lifetime. For 3 seasons we were unplayable at times with Johnston, Summerbee, Quinn and Phillips et al. Built the best ever squad and then dismantled it just as quickly. He had everything at his fingertips but became bigger than the club and suffered the fall from grace he brought on himself. If he had been given the backing he probably deserved in the transfer market I think we could have finished top 4 under him and who knows where that might have led?

    3. Gus Poyet - early days I know but considering the situation when he took over this season and the implications of relegation from the richest league in the world, what he has achieved in such a short space of time is remarkable. If he can keep us up and get a full summer to prepare, I think this bloke could become truly exceptional and I am already loving the style of football with a possession and controlling football game. We have gone from pathetic weekly whipping boys to the brink of a Wembley Final; a decent FA Cup run and to within touching distance of getting out of the bottom 3 and we are becoming a team no one enjoys playing now.

If the last 50 years are taken into consideration then of course Sir Robert of Stokoe would be right up there at the top. He has delivered our only major post war trophy and our sole foray into Europe. His everlasting legacy is already assured.
