I think this is great news:

Diakite ‘back in the picture’ at Rangers

    Samba Diakite
    17/01/2014
    By David McIntyre
Harry Redknapp has dismissed reports linking Samba Diakite with a move to Watford.

It was claimed the QPR midfielder was discussing an initial loan move to Vicarage Road with a view to a permanent deal at the end of the season.

But Diakite, who has been consistently overlooked by Redknapp, is back in his plans after impressing in training and could feature against Huddersfield this weekend because Joey Barton is out with a thigh injury.

And Rangers boss Redknapp insisted the Mali international would not be leaving.

“No, he’s not. He’s in the squad for tomorrow,” said Redknapp.

“He played for the reserves in midweek and played very well. He’s a player that might be very much back in the picture again now.

“Hopefully we can get him going and get the best out of him, and if we can he’s a very good player.”

Yossi Benayoun is struggling with a groin problem and looks likely to miss the Huddersfield game, while Jermaine Jenas is still unavailable.

I think it's acceptable to criticise his play and cite the risk he presents of reducing the effectiveness of the team when down to 10 men. One would hope that the coaching team would have worked with him on this side of his game.

To then insinuate that he is a 'lunatic' off the pitch, is frankly harsh and offensive; especially as it was widely reported at the time that the fellow was suffering from depression. Conversely, I wish him well in his recovery.

    This is great news.

He played quite well when I last saw him at Loftus Road, against Swindon in the cup. (He pulled his shorts up in his trademark 'nappie' style).

If he is selected tomorrow, I hope he has another performance like the one against Arsenal back in March 2012.

I always liked Diakite. Everyone talks about the Arsenal game but he had looked good in a load of games that season. I know he lacks a bit of refinement but the way he travelled with the ball and ghosted past players (Prem players then don't forget!) suggest he would be more that good enough at this level if his minds right.

I really hope he gets a chance tomorrow.

I was quoting someone else, plus he denied he had depression.

He's a basket case. The Club obviously signed him knowing nothing of his mental issues. If they had of known they wouldn't have touched him.

Another Sparkless signing that turned to sh*t

He' still got the potential that most of us saw in him when he first arrived. Some decent coaching and he could become an important player for us. Just as long as he stays on the pitch...

You moronic buffoon!! Mental health problems are a very real illness and I wish him all the best and hope to see him back on the pitch tomorrow.

That would indeed be great if Harry could re-integrate him back into the squad.

Going through this lot (including mop head) like a knife through hot butter!

no chance, anyone who gets offended by what I said is an idiot. especially as he himself said there was nothing wrong with him.

I'm never going to apologise for something I didn't say about something that never happened.

If he has got himself sorted out (whatever the problem was) he would be just what we are lacking in the midfield; someone who gets from box to box, is lively and is capable of beating his man.
With all the injuries we might well be surprised to see that he starts today.

Maybe attacking midfielder ? I'm not sure about his passing but he can dribble that's for sure. Now when I think about it we should make him a winger
