I'm sure the Korea's will reunite, within our lifetimes if not sooner. (you know what I mean). The South seems to have a lot going for it.

Talking about world future, humanities' self-destruction etc, maybe I'm totally misty-eyed but I really believe that better education can help, in the here, in the States or wherever. If we can give a higher % of people good critical thinking/evidence skills (how to think, not what to think) then the influence of shouty tabloids will quickly go down and some more people with intelligence might start to get elected. I don't have many political opinions but there's one.

What I was saying the other day. There is an excellent argument to suggest that basic early education does children a huge disservice, as they waste their best years learning subjects that will hardly support them through their later life, and certainly to be of little consequence in terms of a career. Essentially, we are still doing to children what the Victorians started, ie, sit still, be quiet and learn this, whether they want to or not. We regiment their minds as best we can. Then, if they are inclined to go to Uni [perhaps after realising that they can't get a job for want of trying], we ask them to think for themselves, and wonder why they can't do it. So we educate everyone, who is inclined, to somewhere in their ability scale, and then they can't find jobs either, plus they have a mountain of debt over their heads. It's a great way to start an adult life, don't you think..? Hopefully you are able to because you unlearned the school days doctrine whilst at Uni.

Getting annoyed now because I'm picturing the senseless waste of talent of generations of people because the system can't fit them in to its tight requirements and nobody has the wit or skill to imagine better. So I'll stop.

If you want your smiley to appear properly, leave out the minus sign. Jasper. Just saying.

    Really..? Fair enough.

The coincidental thing about that picture is that it was taken directly outside Staplewood, on the drive out of the contractors exit, which normally accounts for the sandy dirt colour of the windscreen, as it is the ground beneath.

I like it too, actually. Obviously it'd be better if our avatars were bigger, but I like it for what it is.

If mine was bigger then it'd be a lot more obvious how little work I put into it.

Yep which is good. Couldn't be bothered to read his post history but I am guessing all of it was negative.

More work than mine. Find picture of Laura after a loss (not difficult) and make it greyscale.
