I've started going to the gym again for the first time in a while and my muscles are aching quite a bit. . . After reading different things on the internet, it seems that there is a split in opinion of what to do. Some people suggest to let yourself heal and others suggest continuing to work out because your muscles will find it harder to rip again once healed. (It is the ripping of muscles which allows new and bigger muscles to grow). Has this happened to anyone else and if so, what did they decide to do?
just keep going get some recovery protien and drink lots of fluids (not alc) that what i did and dont hurt at all any more and go at least 4 times a week
If you are going 4 times a week, make sure you target different muscle groups each session. Whoever told you that you need to rest muscles to let them repair, heal and grow is absolutely correct. Doing too much is almost as bad as doing nothing. Combine this with regular cardio works out too, by the way.
Plenty of ****ing (both yourself and others) will firm up the muscles in the wrist and the hand and you'll have lots of fun in the process. That's what Toby told me anyway
I recomend doing weights that dont ache as much and then building up and stuff. I go to the gym and can lift the top weights with one arm now - pretty chuffed
Why is it so hard to motivate yourself to go to the gym? I used to go every other day then I lost my job and stopped but not I am working again but I can't seem to get off my arse.
Why do you go to the gym? If you need to keep fit take up a SPORT. the gym is not a sport, it is a place where closet homos go to stare at other sweaty grunting men with penises shriveled up due to steroid abuse. <fact> <barrowman> <otras> <iwwt>
But it isn't quite the same in terms of upper body strength is it? Most footballer build that in the gym. Although admittedly its probably more of a cardiovascular workout.
