It's all kicking off at the moment, apparently an "internal coup"

It's all confirmed looks like Whitmarsh is out of the picture completely. Lots of McLaren fans out in force Ron Dennis is trending worldwide on twitter!

Typical McLaren, no emtion or sentiment in the statement. Nothing to thank Whitmarsh (however good or bad he was)

    Well this is interesting!

No clarity on Whitmarsh's position yet. He could still stay on as Team Principal.

Given that the transfer of power is being described as a "coup", that doesn't seem very likely. The stage seems to be perfectly set for Ross Brawn.

That's it Whitmarsh is taking control of F1.

    Or the return of Mosley!

That very thought came into my mind. Ron seems like a cut throat guy.

At the end of the season maybe. I see this as jensons last year at McLaren anyway. If they replaced. Him now , who are they gonna get in? Di Resta?

Yeah, I did find the news...concerning. It's too late for anything to happen for this season, but it's hard to see him there in 2015 at the moment. If Ross Brawn is the new TP it might be more feasible, they had a pretty good relationship before.

Dennis's return though surely scuppers the Alonso idea, so it's hard to see where a star driver is coming from.

<laugh> For me, this talk of Ron and Max highlights that Whitmarsh just isn't narcissistic enough to succeed in this game.

Apparently, he's on Sanatogen for the next six months. Either he'll return fortified and stronger than ever, or with a strange alcohol problem.
