Senna was all about the racing, to the point he divorced his wife because she took up too much time away from F1, Lewis isn't, that's why he always has to get his team to set up his car and work out his strategy, because he's too busy being a celebrity, it's a shame, because I would've liked to have seen what he could become if he showed a bit more application. Still, Senna hadn't even won an F1 race until he was the age Lewis is now so there's time still, but I feel that his time could've passed, with drivers like Vettel, Kobayashi, Kubica (maybe) on the grid, before he only really had Alonso as a worthy opponent.

sure, I have no problems with other peoples opinions unless they're absolute BS, which yours aren't.

as to guest, I think I do, there has been a marked change in him since he became a WDC, and all of it has been detrimental to his development as a driver, getting in a pop stars manager (who has a history of ripping off his clients) really enforced the feeling I'd had for a while. seems he just wants to be seen at the right places, another driver that happened to not so long ago was Kimi, and where is he now? less than 4 years after being WDC he's in a 2nd tier of stock cars in the US.

lewis is all about racing, its what he's been doing since he was about 5.he lives for racing.whether he sets his own car up or not is irrelevant.

lewis is fully commited to f1,him being a celebrity doesnt change that.

ppl are very quick to write him off,ppl are very quick to blame him and knock him.they are desperate to see him fail because they just want him out the way because it'll make life easier for their favourate driver.

and vettels only doing well because he's under very little pressure leading in most of the races, and kobayashi is a good driver but can be wreckless himself, and kubica is a top driver, but none of them are better drivers than lewis,he can beat all of them.so just because the likes of those 3 are in f1 now,it doesnt change the fact lewis is still just as capable(if not more)of winning more championships.

fenderman posted this comment on a different website, and i completely agree with him.

For those who are debating what the racing line is and what relevance that has to driver A overtaking driver B, let me see if can be of some help.

    1) As has been stated by several contributors to his and indeed other threads on this forum, the racing line is simply the fastest route around a racetrack.

    2) The racing line does not confer any rights and privelages on any driver, whether in front, alongside or behind.

    3) The code that existed until fairly recently with regard to overtaking and being overtaken was a custom and practise observed by most racing drivers and was simply this: If driver A opens the door and driver B "showed a wheel" - i.e. placed his own front wheel alongside and ahead of driver A's rear wheel - it was accepted practise for driver A to give best and concede the corner.

This code has changed since the arrival Lewis Hamilton and as drivers have closed the door with impunity it has now become custom and practise to shut the door regardless of whether or not there will be contact and risk of damaging one's own car.
It is bad enough that poor stewarding in the past has led to this new entrenchment but now we have a new trend thanks to the internet. We have a seething mass of fans who, having called for more action and overtaking in F1 and for stewards to be more professional and sensible, have got what they asked for.
But now they want penalties for every bump and bash just because their favourite geezer is or isn't, in their mindset, cutting the mustard. It's gotta be his fault or their fault or anyones fault so dock points, give 'em a 5 place grid slot penalty, 6 race ban, just get them the hell outa there so that our guy can win! F1 is for grown ups and there isn't a soul in it who doesn't know that or they wouldn't be there.

Hamilton did not even get his front wheels fully past Button's rear wheels though, and why should a driver concede a corner when the driver behind is not even level? What you are saying does not really make much sense it just seems like rationalisation.

He was my favourite driver, as to Kobay being reckless, find me a crash he's caused, and as to Vettel having no pressure, what about last year? all he got was his team-mate and all the other teams slagging him off and giving him nicknames, and despite some horrendous luck at the beginning of the season with his cars reliabilty he came through it all to win. It's obvious from your posts that you have an unrealistic view of Hamilton, where is he compared to his lesser skilled team-mate in the WDC? he's had no mechanical problems that weren't of his own making, almost out of the championship race due to his own errors (again) and we aren't even at the half way stage. It takes more than driving fast to win a WDC, which is why Prost has more WDC's than Senna. IMO Vettel is better than LH, and is he is younger and always improving, he learned from his mistakes, Hamilton hasn't. To coin a phrase "you don't know what yu are talking about",

vettel still had the fastest car which helped alot.if he had that bad luck with not such a dominant car then he would have been under alot more pressure.and kobi is an agressive driver like lewis.but i suppose its only called wreckless when lewis is aggressive.
and lewis is 16 points behind jenson, but he'll easily make that up in the next few races.jenson had more points than lewis last season at one point,so talk about points at the end of the season,or after the next 3 races.and i dont agree that vettel is a better driver than lewis.he's just been ahead in most races this season and so hasnt had to overatake as often as he did last season, therefore he's made less mistakes.also lewis has to push harder than vettel in races too,and i think lewis has overtaken alot more cars than vettel this season.so more mistakes will be made.
the reason why lewis didnt do better in monaco was because of what happened in quali,he actually had a good race considering where he started, the penalties and where he finished.
and the 2 incidents in canada were racing incidents.i actually think button was more to blame for squeezing lewis like that, but he didnt do it on purpose.
so blaming lewis by calling them "his own errors" is wrong.

Mifune - Re the video you link to.

At 02/22 Lewis front wheels are ahead of Buttons rear wheels.

All the F1 forums have arguments about this incident. some blame Hamilton, some blame Button, some say that it was a racing incident.

Read the stewards report. If you need a link to it then I will happily oblige.

no, it's called reckless because he keeps hitting people, Kobayashi doesn't, that is a huge difference, but I doubt you can see that through your Lewis hamilton tinted spectacles.

Tell you what...I can't wait for Hamilton to just have a normal race purely so these childish back and forths will go away.

lewis just said that to keep the peace.thats exactly the same reason why button apologized.if he wasnt to blame he didnt need to apologize, but he still did.

also from what i saw with my own eyes lewis wasnt completely at fault.also the stewards who looked at the incident said it was 50/50 based on the data, you've read their report right?
i personally think button was more to blame.

actually you can clearly see hamiltons front right is atleast level with button rear left before lewis gets squeezed into the wall.

when you're driving in the wet you have to assume that you can't be seen and drive accordingly, in the dry it would've been Buttons fault, but the wet is a completely different story, as anyone who has raced will tell you. You just don't make risky moves like that or, well, you can see for yourself what happens.
