Can we outdo Pompey with our next owner and have some sort of African despot Leader? Or a South American Drug Lord?
If anyone needs cheering up, follow @youvebeenhodged on twitter. Absolute Hilarity. He's just done a genuine beauty of Heskey and Beckham.
I seem to remember that ML was no longer directly involved with running the Main manufacturing business when he took over Saints, rather it was owned by the family. As it happens, when the takeover was completed I had an interesting conversation with a friend of ours who works for a company developing engines. His employers were about to be awarded a contract with the Liebherrs, after the previous contractor had theirs torn up after 20+ years. The Liebherrs felt that the bond of trust had been breached over some issue. My friend and a few of his colleagues were invited to stay with the family for a few days so that they could check whether there were "the sort of people they wanted to do business with" for the next twent years. This will sound really weird to those used to the US/UK approach to business, but as others have commented, the Swiss or German approach is very different. So I don't believe that we are in for a long wait to see a way forward. My only concern would be whether the same diligence is shown when a part of their business empire is being disposed of. One can only hope.
NC is a businessman (quite a good one, of course) - he bought low and has sold high, reputation wise. Next please !
Not much stability and his stance on white farmers may well effect our support in rural areas. You have not thought this through.
Right, I'm going to go float in a pool of my own wet, salty tears until the press conference tomorrow. #prayforpoch
do you mean MALI or the Liebherr group? everything points to him having sold out of the Liebherr group company in the mid 90s or earlier and MALI being his project. the anecdote would possibly still be relevant though. edit: 20+ years would rule out mali group.
Also, Mugabe's way with dealing with those who oppose him was only slightly less harsh than Cortese's
****ing hell. That takes me back. You know the guy responsible for the campaign had a nervous breakdown and was arrested for masturbating in public?
Merely optimistic but this was posted yesterday http://blogs.wsj.com/chinarealtime/2014/01/14/wanda-still-has-plenty-of-cash-to-burn/ Cash to burn... Shame it's probably just on more hotels
If that was meant as a joke it was in very poor taste. Clearly, you know nothing about Robert Mugabe.
We'll exclusively reveal that bin Laden is still alive, and taking over. Why settle for a lesser evil?
