See what exactly? That no matter which way you try and dress it up, ronaldo is the better player? I can see that clearly.
Ive put the ronaldo argument forward. Scored more this season, last season, during the year 2013, in less games, scores in the big games, against the big clubs, done it for years, did it in England as well as spain. Your move
Suarez is a fantastic player mind, in great form. The notion of him being equal to or better than ronaldo however is laughable. Maybe one day, when Ronaldo's winding down Suarez will be the better player, but right now its a very one sides argument. This only shows how good Ronaldo is and not how bad Suarez is mind.
Sorry, but I won't allow myself to be dragged down to your level. I've said all along that Ronaldo is a fantastic player, the only point I made was that the gap between them is nowhere near as much as you maintain. That is clear for all to see, except those who don't want to. Many neutral commentators have said they think that Suarez is the best in the world at the moment, I'm not so sure, but he's not far off. You can't really expect your opinion to be taken seriously if you can come out with something as mind bogglingly illogical as this:
Really, must I? Well, let's take a like-for-like comparison, the one you made. Torres. Torres did not "stand out" at Liverpool, he stood out in the Premier League whilst at Liverpool. He had to play against the same teams, with the same defences, at Chelsea as he had been with us. As he was in a "better" team there, surely it should have been easier for him to do well? Whatever went wrong with him is a strange one, but to suggest he can play better in the same league because he's in a poorer side is plain nonsense. As for Ronnie, well if you're the best (or second best) in the world then yes, you will still stand out at RM, because by definition you're better than the rest of the team. And he might be playing in a great team, but they're in a poor league.
But you haven't... you just made up numbers. Even if you include cups this season (which isn't the best comparison for various obvious reasons- hence why most comparisons are made by league goals) Suarez would only have 18 games. Where the 38 came from is mind boggling?
made up eh? Im afraid not, unfortunately for your losing argument ever stat I posted is accurate as of today. http://espnfc.com/player/_/id/22774/cristiano-dos-santos-aveiro-ronaldo?cc=5739 http://espnfc.com/player/_/id/125088/luis-suárez?cc=5739 Unless both play in the same league, the only fair comparison is all competitions. Anything else can be made to suit any argument.
thanks for helping my argument. I didnt even consider the fact Torres played better in a poorer Liverpool side than the quality Chelsea one. It seems some players appear better in poorer sides.
FROM THE VERY ARTICLE YOU POSTED: Ronaldo GAMES GOALS ASSISTS SHOTS 18 20 4 141 Suarez 16 22 5 92 Which supports what I said. Suarez has scored more, had more assists- in fewer games and after wasting 50 less off target shots You still haven't explained what these 38 games Suarez has played this season are.
Try looking at the page again. It lists the league games but you are simply a drop down menu away from the ugly truth.
Torres is a strawman, a tactic used by people who are losing an argument.... Pre-injury Torres was bloody good- but he never recovered. Same thing happened to Owen and many other strikers in the past. You can't compare Torres to Suarez and Ronaldo in this. Even Fergie thought Torres was good in the early days- he tried four times to sign him. Noone would call post-injury Torres good. Torres was crap for us in his last season too.
Yeh I agree hes ****. However the argument against Ronaldo from many is that anyone could score for fun in a side like Madrid. Its simply not true. Many many players have failed to live up to their billing at a big club surrounded by class players. It far far easier to stand out and look amazing at a poorer club. Take a look around the clubs, theres examples of it everywhere.
LMAO... so not only are you including cup games- which isn't accurate due to differing levels of involvement/levels of team in competitions- you're also including friendlies and qualifiers in that count? That's a pretty sad way to try and twist stats.
Hmmm.... So including everything is 'a sad way to twist stats' but selectively picking out the ones that suit isnt. I think you are confused lad.
And here I was thinking it was Liverpool fans that talk about the past. Funny how when UIR called Suarez a flat track bully he refused to consider previous season as that would mean having to admit Luis has scored against the best sides in the country but he has no problem referring to previous seasons to justify C.Ronaldo being better than L.Suarez! PS...I couldn't give a **** who is better, Luis is ours and every club in the would would love to have him
Blackburn just shipped 5 goals to the best team in Manchester, does that make them only one goal worse than the midtable prem side from Salford or do we take the fact that it was a cup game into consideration?
