I saw a documentary the other day about Bill Parcells. Famous American football coach, much like NC. Known for being a total control freak and polarizing figure, you loved him or hated him. Anyway, he got in a spat with his owner. They interviewed the owner and he said that a major part of the problem was that Parcells was always threatening to quit. He was very passionate, plus the ego, plus being a control freak, plus being kind of a crank so he was always like "I don't know if I can do this anymore." And so the owner's dilemma was if he gave Parcells the complete control he wanted, then he would be totally left in the lurch if Parcells resigned. Because it would be his staff, and his players and you'd have to give the whole team over to his philosophy. Anyway, I suspect that may be what happened at Saints. If NC handed in his resignation in the fall, then KL is obviously going to have to make plans to move one. NC can't expect to have total control if he's going to be gone in six months. But, the upshot of the story if you follow American football-- the New England Patriots ended up just fine without Bill Parcells. So there you go.

I don't. I'm nervous, and a little disappointed but I'm also slightly excited to see what comes next. I'd prefer for this not to have happened obviously, but I'm not all doom-and-gloom. And obviously I feel for MP because I mean, it's his job so it's personal. Anyway, not trying to argue or anything. I have the benefit of being removed from the situation as I don't have the same ties to the area or club. So just saying maybe... try not to be too depressed?
