1st half was pretty even. gave a good account of ourselves. brum didnt sound special. couldnt tell they were 2 leagues above us. 2nd half we just didnt do enough. brum stepped up a gear. last 15 mins we stepped up a gear but left gaps at the back which allowed brum to take advantage on counter attacks. overall i think brum deserved the win. 1-0 would be more fair. 3-0 is very very harsh. hope the players holds their heads up high and not let this effect them for the league games.
really??? is that all they took?? watford is a million miles further than birmingham though BS1 to WD18 0ER (google maps) 121 miles - 2 hours. BS1 to B9 4RL (google maps) 90 miles - 1 hour 40 mins. the extra 20 minute journey must have put thousands off going to watford
confusion over how many gasheads made the trip to brum. tweets from official rovers....... "Official figures say 2,358 Gasheads made the trip! Seemed so many more #bristolrovers" https://twitter.com/Official_BRFC/status/423216615422173185 "There were actually 2,890 Gasheads at St. Andrews #amazingsupport" https://twitter.com/Official_BRFC/status/423224200313466880
3-0 was harsh, but I felt we gave them a little too much respect at times and they had plenty of spece in attacking areas. We played ok though, just a lack of cutting edge as usual.
So a winger and striker needed then.... Why didnt someone tell us that before!! FFS JW get your ****ing finger out and get us a couple of players who know where the net is, and can run a little bit quick!!
FFS JW get your f**king finger out and get us a couple of players who know where the net is, and can run a little bit quick!![/QUOTE] Unbelievable statement! Keep doing the same John. Last night proved we have the players already.
performances have improved without a doubt. we are actually winning games. but i disagree that we have the players already. we only have 1 winger who is fit for starters! and that is santos and he has been missing recently and is a youngster who is still very inexperienced. we have been playing players out of position on the wings such as bond, clarke, lockyer, norburn, clucas, beardsley and clarkson. none are wingers. richards and harrison has played as wingers several times before but they are classed as strikers by ward. we can expect to struggle in any league if we only have 1 winger who is still very inexperienced. we also need someone who can score more regularly. o'toole is our top scorer which is great as having a midfielder who gets double figures is a very good sign. but i dont think all strikers (richards, harrison, clarkson, beardsley, harrold) have scored double figures between them. thats not good enough. we need a striker who can come in and immediately hit the ground running. we have no pace in attack either. with the team that we have and the players coming back from injury, we are 2 players short of making us a side who should survive easily. stay as we are then we will remain in a dogfight at the bottom. a winger with pace and a striker with pace. good luck ward in getting the right players in. not easy as other clubs would want the same type of player and ward has to convince them to join us within the wage budget. but chris is right, ward is running out of time and we cant afford not to get anyone.
Great pic from the OS of the fans at Birmingham last night: http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/cms_images/events/12man-1600x1200235-1295834.jpg
