Tennis matches can last 4 hours or more though Matth, I think that is the real killer for them tbf. Tennis courts are heat traps too. The heat in the WC is going to kill the pace of the game.

Not really given Europe will host in Russia so shouldn't have 2 in a row. However other than some greedy Fifa bigwigs getting some dollar in their pockets, I fail to see a single reason why Qatar should have a World Cup, even without the weather issue. With football increasingly becoming more global, it is inevitable that some countries with difficult summer climates will host at some point - and may result in winter world cups. Should have been Australia in my opinion. None of the human right issues and at least they qualify for most World Cups.
Should never be in winter and should never have been given to Qatar. Best idea would be to scrap the whole waste of time and wait til the next one. Fifa ****ed up as per.
