Does this scenario apply to Hughton replacing Lambert?

I just cannot see how anyone would want this to continue.

There are ZERO signs of development:

we are not winning, we cant even draw now, we are shipping goals like crazy, we cant score.......................

The only reason I can think anyone is still behind what Hughton is doing is out of sheer bloody-mindedness and not wanting to face up to the fact they may have been wrong.

It's so obvious to see that we are in the **** and dropping like a stone. The only way I can see he will keep his job is if he wins the next game and draws a few or maybe Mcnally is in it for the long run with Hughton and will except going down to the championship.

I do now agree, and it relates to your last point. In years gone by, dropping down a league would not necessarily be a disaster and could actually prove beneficial in the long run. I no longer think that's the case, it is imperative to stay in the PL and that has to be achieved by any reasonable means. Replacing CH is one way forward even it simply to get the players motivated to train and play for a new manager; I think we have many average players, and a few good ones but we are not playing to the strenghts of the good ones, instead they are being dragged down and the average ones are also playing beneath their capabilities.

I've been a "Fence Sitter" for a while now and not part of the "Hootun Ooters" or "Happy Clappers" but even I am now tipping over to the Ooters side.

You accept losing and the odd bad game as part of football but I can no longer accept gutless displays - displays that show no care, flair, passion, guile, innovation, pace, progress, aptitude and above all attitude. This is not the City team I love and have supported for 46 years - this is something resembling a ramshackle bunch with no ideas, leadership, motivation and ambition.

As Dream Theatre sing: "It's time to make a change" - I hope DM has someone lined up because we cannot go on as we are.

The thing is, our potential saviour would be effectively somebody else's cast-off, whether it is Steve Clarke, Laudrup or anybody else, that is where we are. Similarly if we jettisoned CH then shortly he would be the new saviour somewhere else. You could tell by the line-up last night that it was a half-hearted attempt at staying in the cup, we need 4 points at least from the next two games, that is the real test for me. And yes, the players must take some responsibility as well!

I too have been sitting with splinters in my backside for a while now, but after going to the game last night and witnessing a performance so utterly devoid of any sort of creativity or imagination (and in a cup replay too, which gives somewhat of an opportunity to try and be a bit more inventive) I have to say I wouldn't grumble if Hughton got the chop.

That doesn't matter, it is about finding the right fit between manager and players. I always think that Roh Hodgson is a good manager at lower level teams, in that he is able to get average players playing at the top of their game but he can't get quality/flair players to play at the top of theirs. I like Steve Clarke, I think he would be good fit

No. This applies to clubs who seem to have 2/3 managers a season without looking at a long term view for their club. Their lack of stability gets them relegated, lose huge amounts of money which puts the club at risk. Whatever people may say now CH did keep us up last year so did a decent job then.

I say we do a straight swap, loads of fans are STILL pining after the PL days and Villa fans seem to hate PL. So let's do a swap with Villa, we get PL back and Villa can have CH <laugh>

I want Houghton to leave but not unless we have a replacement who I think can take us forward lined up. Currently, I dont know anyone I would like to see come in as manager - I think it would be good to look across europe though.

As much as I dislike like the standard of football and how painful we are to watch I would stick with Houghton until a better option is available. The team CANNOT keep being this bad!! I think we can stay up with Hughton in charge but even if we do he has to go int he summer for me, for the same reasons I wouldnt have mind him leaving in the summer gone. Unfortunately a couple of good wins at the end of the season papered over the cracks.

I just want to enjoy watching our team again whether thats defending well, attacking well or a mixture of both.

I'm really surprised at DM lately, he doesn't seem that concerned, If I was him I'd be fuming at how crap we are, maybe he's aware of some fantastic signings in the pipeline.

Do you guys not think that a Director of Football would solve the problems?

I'll see what I can do to get Joe Kinnear for you.

Personally, I'd have CH before Pardew.

really, have you seen us play this season?
hoof it long ball or give it to the inverted wingers who don't create much for the front men

I wouldn't mind Hughton as a DoF, with an actual manager alongside him.
