It's tempting to read that post and chuckle and think "yeah, the daft old fool". But then it settles a bit and that's ACTUALLY a very real concern for WBA now. Maybe that's why Jelavic hasn't signed too, Everton worry they might only get part payment. If so, I reserve the right to call him a silly old **** for 100th time. FFS.
exactly - who would sanction the standard type of transfer with Allam maybe trowing it all in at any whim
I don't see why the clubs wouldn't simply ask for a personal guarantee from Allam. If he wasn't willing to provide that they would rightly be worried.
The transfer fees would be guaranteed by the 'football debts' preference when a club goes into admin. The FA would use future TV revenue payments and pay them direct to the selling clubs if necessary.
Its all unnecessary hassle though isnt it ? OK its only theoretical babble on here , but the we can only go by what Allams said and he is a loose cannon on a ship made from spagghetti
I blame sky! Obviously they had f'ck all else to do today so they decided to go visit AA! Bryn law's to blame!
I think this song pretty sums up today. Listen to the lyrics, you'll know what I mean.
Thank you Mr Allam for your determination to support our club. In the next few days we will see our previous record transfer fee (paid by you) smashed not once but possibly even twice. You have the appreciation of all the supporters who remember when we were a selling club with no ambition. We're not anymore and it's mainly thanks to you.
Please forgive them Mr Allam. They know not what they say. These are the people who toss off at the prospect of each new signing, then whine like little girls each time a fee is paid. In a word ...ungrateful.
I trust you were there. I was. Allam wasn't. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/h/hull_city/1164998.stm
And still they come like rats from every darkened corner sqealing; "We want to finish in the top half. We want more signings. We're so happy we have Huddlestone. We want, we want, we want..." But do they say thank you when they get what they want???
I was. Also I was the mascot for the Mansfield home game which was supposed to be our last, which was on Feburary 20th 2002. Seeing these signings of Jelavic and Long will never make me forget the strike trio of Kevin Francis, John Eyre and Rodney Rowe busting their arses off to get the win infont of about 6000. I was only 8 and it's still a night I'll always remember fondly. Never forget the dark days - someone needs to get telling our high and mighty chairman about the stories of the early Noughties! Don't get me wrong - I'm delighted at where the club is now, and I had a slight tear in my eye when Mr Livermore scored at West Brom; but we weren't so lucky back then. Surely "Hull Tigers" is just a facade for Mr Allam's pipedream of making the club global. It already is. Look forward to the good times, but never forget the bad.
