I agree with some of this. The most important question will be the views of the FA of introducing US style names into a sport that earns billions across the world based on tradition and hertigage. If they think we are the thin edge of the wedge and manchester United grab Manchester Hunter because it is a powerful name then they may well refuse the application. Alternatively they could just do what the businessman wants.
The club would have surveyed the fans themselves by now if they thought it would show more people for the name change than against it
The game was sold out before anyone knew about the OSC being asked to conduct a poll, so none of that applies.
Exactly why the club should be conducting a poll of it's season ticket holders, or everyone on it's database. But they won't, because they know what the outcome would be.
I can't remember it being announced, but it finished about 90% against, it will be in the FSF submission to the FA.
