    That's for certain.

I missed all the footy the last few days, although caught the end of the skunks match last night...Won't say where i watched it, as location seems to be a bit of a problem, judging by thus thread, but it was a fun way to end a drunken night.

It's weird how people are sometimes looked down on for doing summat different or having a laugh .......... I'm dead smug about what I've done in my life but only say owt if people start with the 'get a life' ****e.

Get a life man Smug, will ya.<laugh>

I know loads of lads on this site, they are from all walks of life, and some topper lads. Keep the likes of myself entertained and informed. A common interest, one which we all vary on opinions about.

But this thread is funny a ****, i honestly thought the club was doomed and relegation looked most likely, but hey ho, who knows, they may just do it, and a trip to wembley to boot. It's a funny old game.

Out of interest mate. Will you be more inclined to ktf next time the going gets tough? Long way to go. Our February looks like this

    Scum away
    Hull home
    Man C away
    Arsenal away

    And then in April

    Spurs away
    Everton home
    Chelsea away
    Cardiff home

I ask because there's no way we can keep this form up, long way to go and plenty of opportunities to show relegation form. It's staggered me how willing folk are to throw themselves off a building considering this league is a marathon. We need to take the rough with the smooth and stop panicking imo.

I'm worried this sudden burst of confidence from everyone is just a case of one extreme to the other and the second we lose a few (especially to a rival) we'll be back to throwing ourselves in front of trains.

    <ok>

I know how this bloody team can affect you mate.

I'd hoped things would change, at my age, but it still takes me 'til Thursday to shake off a defeat <laugh>

I just hate the double standards that people can have a pop at the optimists after we've been beaten but it doesn't work the other way round when we win.

I have to say though, that it makes me laugh when people say, "I'm pessimistic because I'm a realist." Why can't optimists be realists?

I thought we had a realistic chance of Poyet getting a decent team out of that squad and I believe he has.

Can't personally see why anyone is getting grief for being optimistic. In the same way I don't see the point of this thread telling fellow fans to **** off.
The thing that pisses me off about our club is we shouldn't be anywhere near the relegation zone. Yet once again we are.
History tells us the club bottom at Xmas virtually always goes down, it's therefore realistic to expect relegation this season. Obviously that doesn't mean we will but we are far from out of the clarts just yet.
Not sure what your reference to the Shipyards was all about Smug. I did 6 years in Picky's so I guess you could say 2 minuets wouldn't be a problem.

I'm watching the Villa - Arsenal match so I'll answer your points while there's nowt happening.

There is a point, which I carefully explained, today ........ quite a few times and one was the post directly above yours, dunno how you missed it.

We're all pissed off at where we are, I wasn't referring to people being pissed off.

Expecting relegation because people love trotting out the 'West Brom blah ****ing blah' **** is fine if you choose to believe it, I don't.
If it was the case that it's never been done then it might be different. I was being realistic which has now been proved to some extent.

The reference to shipyards was fairly obvious I'd have thought and Commachio understood.
In case I was a bit vague, it's this ........ the shipyards etc was full of people who could insult each other, take the piss and tell each other to **** off without folk getting hysterical.

Some of the reactions, on here, are tears at bedtime, they're the people I'm referring to. If that's not you then there's no problem is there?

While you're on, why is it that the pessimists are allowed to take the piss but it doesn't work the other way round without this 'come on, we're all Sunderland fans together' routine?

Still 0-0 btw, Arsenal with 78% possession.

You seem to be getting a little confused. Your OP was in no way a piss take. It was a full on rant at anyone who dares to disagree with your opinion.
"West Brom blah f**king blah' ****" as you so elegantly put it is far from ****. It's fact. Only one team in the history of the Prem has survived from our position at Xmas. Could we be the second? Bloody hope so.
By the way I can remember many fights caused by people telling each other to "**** off". I suppose it's all down to who's saying it and how they say it.
For someone who lives in the Sunny South of France with a fantastic job you spend an incredible amount of time putting the world to rights on here. Fair play to you. I hardly ever get the time these days.

I work for myself and come and go as I please. I post, like now, while our lass is watching Corrie and I have an eye on the Villa match ........ besides the sun goes down at night just like where you live <laugh>

Why am I 'putting the world to rights' ........ I'm giving my opinion just the same as you and everyone else.

You didn't answer any of my questions whereas I've answered all of yours, but there you, we're all different <ok>

    Thank fook for that.

What questions did you ask? I see two and one of them is rhetorical. The other one....

"While you're on, why is it that the pessimists are allowed to take the piss but it doesn't work the other way round without this 'come on, we're all Sunderland fans together' routine?"

Obviously anyone can take the piss, it's a great part of life. That's not what you did though. You insulted anyone with an opinion different from yours in your little rant. And yes we are all Sunderland fans at the end of the day which makes your point scoring even more pathetic..IMHO

No I didn't .......... I told them to **** off, totally different thing. Who did I insult out of interest?

Like I said, telling people to **** off isn't such a big deal unless you're a delicate little flower ffs.

If 'we're all Sunderland fans' then why do some seem to take pleasure in dishing out the 'told you so routine' when we lose but don't like it shoved back in their face?

If we'd been beaten 4-1, at Fulham, some people would've been all over the board with much worse than lightheartedly telling folk to **** off.

If people are so sensitive perhaps they should find a crochet & knitting forum.
