From the club twitter feed! The manager says that Alex Tettey and Anthony Pilkington are both injury-free and training - decision will be made on them for Hull game.
Thats excellent news, the player we really need back is Howson, he was awesome before his injury and we noticeable lack him in the middle, personally I think that this was one of the reasons for our poor christmas.
Let's hope Tettey comes back from injury better this season than last when he went from best player in the team to incapable of passing a ball five yards or winning a tackle. Good to have Pilks back. HYe has been missed. Anyone know when Howson is due back?
I get the impression that no one knows when Howson is back, its just when he no longer feels pain in his back.
I think Tettey's energy has been missed in the middle a lot, hopefully bring him off the bench against hull when we're 3-0 up with 20 minutes to go to give johnson some rest. That might be wishful thinking though. Great to see Pilkington coming back, one of our real match winners I think
when is Elliot bennett supposed to be back in training, does anyone know? i thought it was Feb but read somewhere he was ahead of schedule. we might have him back for the last quarter of the season
I think it was me say that in his recent interview he's slightly ahead of schedule. I think there's a chance he could be in contention late Feb/early March.
thanks, be good to see him back, it would be a boost. suspect he'll need quite a few weeks of training to get match fit
Yeah, I believe he has an appointment with his surgeon soon to discuss whether when he can get back to jogging, he's still stuck doing strengthening work in the pool at the moment. His fitness will have no doubt dropped a fair bit, so it'll take a while to get him back up to speed.
Great to have Pilks and Tettey back. I recall CH saying that Howson's injury isn't serious, so he could be back soon. The injuries have really cut into performance of late so let's hope this can make a difference now. As for JG, here's a Newcastle point-of-view: http://www.nufcblog.com/2014/01/13/3m-newcastle-star-close-to-norwich-city-move/?
