I've thought for w hile now that Football should go the same way as Rugby and US Sports and clubs should only be able to spend 50% of their turnover on wages. would level the playing field and stop these Oligarks coming in and destroying the game.

No one's forgot that. I still admit that I was mega excited when Owen signed for us. It seemed it would be the start of a new era and a world class striker would spearhead a much improved team. Turns out things were very different. Owens attitude got worse AS he was playing for us. His injury record and insistance on playing for England ****ed us royally while his signing wasn't added to by Shepherd. The likes of Geremy and Boumsong were what we were left with.

Shearer promotoed a 'jobs for boys' to get Owen in.
Not his fault that Owen was just a greedy, ungreatful and useless **** though.

Im am grateful to MA he is a shrewd businessman even if his people skills and rappor with the fans is ****e. Didnt know shearer want 2m to manage us? As far as i was aware he just wanted transfer funds. And does he have the worst record im not suprised though as we only had * handful of games underhim. I dont think his record for first 5 games is the worst record tbh.

Hope sunderland are alright bruce has got them in a right mess its only a matter of time before he walks away from the mess hes made. The fact they have to sell there best player and there most promising player just to break even speaks volumes

Not this twaddle about Ashley saving us from the financial abyss again. FFS it was him who nearly put us on the road to ruin by selling our best players, sacking and undermining managers resulting in expensive pay offs and destabilising the whole club with his will sell, won't sell indecisiveness. Directly responsible for our relagation no less.

We still have the same debt, just a different creditor...Mike Ashley.

We are not selling all our big earners, we've just offered Enrique a bloody fortune to stay. We just aren't buying the quality we once did. Which is why we are in the bottom half of the table and get **** all for sponsorship money and other peripheral income streams.

Sunderlands probelms have been waiting to happen, they have bolstered their team with loan players, who also cost a fortune in loan fees and wages, and covered up the desperately poor buying strategy that has been a feature of the club for about 3 years now.

That's just plain stupid. You obviously haven't seen much of Gyan who has 10 goals in 30 games and has shown flashes of sheer brilliance. Big things coming from him next season. Sessegnon was unreal for the last 5 games once he'd settled into our team and got himself fit. I know this is going to be ridiculed but Bramble was also outstanding until injury got the better of him. Steeeeed is also far better than that diving Argentinian bloke you have.

I would expect a bit of bias against us but I reckon a lot of you mags would take a few of our players.

I'm sure he will play a big role in Spurs top 4 assault.

Absolutely agree with this. Whilst he seems a clown at times Ashley is the reason we still have a club. Shepherd had effectively mortgaged our club Leeds style... It's a long game but I reckon in 5 years we will be held up as an example of how to financially manage a football club..

Bramble may be good for you lot, but from my memory, Steven Taylor (probably our 2nd best defender after Colo) out classed him as a teenager

As a teenager. Bramble has developed well since joining your lot. Your the only club he hasn't performed for. He did enough at Ipswich for you to sign him. Wigan gave him a chance and got their player of the season. Now we have him and looked very impressive! Especially for £1mil!
