It's no different to any other walk of life Dave, if your not capable then I'm afraid there's always some one else who is ! It's business plain and simple .
Where does it end though Chippy? We're going to change managers every two or three games at this rate! Sometimes you have to be patient and give a guy a chance! We know he's capable from his previous tenures!
But both his previous jobs were spent primarily in the Championship ? His prem experience with Newcastle didn't last long. He's had long enough now to show if he can cut it at this level and IMO he's not up to it ! He is a good Championship manager IMO but not top level? That requires that little something extra that he just can't find. I don't want people to be chopped every couple of games but he's had a fair crack now and it's not getting any better. Ultimately they are very well paid for what they do and it's part of the job now to move about now and then !
Fair enough Chippy, I don't agree with you but you have every right to your opinion, if we all agreed on everything it would be a boring old World!
I like you, Carrabuh, you might post bollocks pretty much all of the time, but is is very entertaining bollocks!
38 point in 38 games and still folk want to give him time. That would be really quite funny if it were another club.
This is one thing I'm not sure about - have we got 38 points in our last 38 games? If so, that's the same points per game as West Brom when Steve Clarke was sacked and people generally regard that as an unfair sacking. I think there are better reasons than simply points total, because after all a point a game, while not great by any means, would see you stay up more seasons than not in the prem.
Like I've said a few times, looking at the previous 38 games is not representative of a full season as we've been away to Arsenal and Man City twice within those 38 games. And anyway even if it was representative (which it isn't), 38 points was enough to stay up last season wasn't it?
I've been wavering between keeping him and sacking him, but have decided that Id be more inclined to stick with him. I don't mind admitting that I was livid after the abject display and losing to Fulham, but thought we did well against ManUre and but for their incredible luck, could have sneaked a draw that day. Also, some of the long term injured should be back in the next week or two and I think Tettey has been the most sorely missed.
As for CH's experience, it would seem that his 59 matches for City (not counting cup games) ought to be included! I also dislike the cherry picking matches over two seasons. City finished 11th last season and are only 3 points behind tenth this season. People are complaining about a possible £3m for Gutierrez, but how much would paying off the present management team cost? I'd rather bring in a quality ACM for that money.
But does that not mean that we will have played two theoretically easier teams at home to balance that out? In theory that actually means the 38 could have favoured us. Home or away we are more than likely to lose to Arse and citeh, whoever we have played twice at home in that period instead may have been a more realistic nut for the cracking! So whilst you bleat on that its not a representation of a full season. It is still pretty indicative of a struggling side quite probably going backwards! Bah!
