I certainly don't think Mignolet is the problem with our defence. Could have done better with the 3rd, had no chance with the first 2. I think he'll earn us more points than he'll give away this season and you can't ask for much more from a keeper. In the first 3 weeks he pretty much saved us 6 points.

it is quite fair to say it is his first season and he's got to adapt. It's equally fair to say as a young keeper we should be backing him too.

I think a rest this year.. ie. reina playing a few more games would have helped.

I mean de gea took time to develope form a terribly shaky start and he got time and backing.... plus a rest. Hart just got a rest.

Minger, with the best will and acknowledging we have no europe to worry baout looks right now like he could do with a little rest but the option of jones is too scary to contemplate.

The FA 4th round will give him a break i guess.... then its the run in for me and he's got to cut out the errors for his side to prosper.

Really questioning Mignolet after today, he's so so bad in the air, what is he thinking with these nothing 'punches' he tries? <yikes>

Reina was flirting with Barca for a while and everyone was expecting them to sign him this season. Rodgers did what he had to do and bring in another keeper for the long term. I agree that Reina was improving towards the end but he had become a liability, and failed to reach the high standards he had set himself when he first joined.

He is no doubt a top quality keeper but I think the lad needed a change in order to reignite his career. I don;t blame him for wanting him to leave, he deserves success and was a real leader at the back. But the club did what was neccesary.

Mignolet has won us more points than cost us this season so I'm happy with him. He has struggled recently but I'm sure he will snap out of it. He hasnt been helped with the dross in front of him.

True but even behind a bad centre two he could still choose to make good decisions, instead he makes bad decisions and keeps making them. If he doesn't have it going on between the ears to judge what is needed and make the right call in the game and the heat of the moment then you can't teach him that, not like technique.

I know what you mean, and I agree he should be doing better. But the source of the problem is the fact that we allow so much pressure in the box in the first place. Strong defence and DM instills confidence.

Too many crosses being allowed in atm.

On the matter of Mig's decision making, I do think he can be coached in this area, it's not necessarily an innate ability.

Minny has had a bad run of games but overall he has been a great keeper for us. Not Reina at his best good but still great.

Don't think Reina will be back now... think people tend to be overly harsh with our keepers.

  10. We'd concede more from set-pieces if Reina were in net.

Besides, Pepe burnt the bridge himself by saying he would leave if Barca came knocking. In short, that meant he wasn't 100% committed to the Liverpool cause and had to go. If he doesn't like it then he should of kept his gob shut!

Can I have an Arab buyout option?

    In which case

    Courtois
    Lahm Tiago-Silva Sahko Shaw/Coentrao*

(*I dont think Bayern would sell both Lahm and Alaba unfortunately!!)

    If only :emoticon-0100-smile

I agree on the too many being let come in line. do agree. is it a tactic? sides feel the rarer games where a player like benteke or lukaku or whomever play see one guy in the box so let it in rather than be beaten and a guy gets into the box... i dunno...

if we are buying off bayern can we have neuer and lahm and then can we look at hungry players not coentrao

It would never happen as he is almost a living legend there, happy, and on a fat wage is Darjo Srna. If I had to compare him, probably a bit like Zabaleta? Can get forward, good set pieces actually, but knows how to defend. Shame he probably won't leave Shaktar until it is too late and he may want to pick up a late winners medal somewhere else.

Another one to keep an eye on lads, Dodo from Roma. The Brazilian LB has shown a lot of promise this season. <ok>

Even if an Arab buyout that would be too much too soon if for next season.

Look how bad City did with their money and buying everyone at once. Wasn't until they calmed down and bought fewer players at a time they got good. Same with QPR last year. Spurs this year.

What if you just bought an entire team? I say just buy Juve and be done with it. <ok>

in fairness city appointed or kept hughes and the thai guy let erikkson buy whomever.

In this case we said a few fantasy names, or buy the entire bayern team... for example... buy bayern, put lewandowski on the bench and play square up top... jobs a good un.
