Thats the worry isn't it. I guess its a decision making thing with him, IMO theres no doubting Chiriches's defensive talent (although not perhaps the strongest in the air granted) or technique with the ball at his feet but he needs to realise when he should take risks and bomb forward/attempt to sell the striker a dummy when one-on-one etc. and if he can do this he will become a seriously valuable player for us.
Just been watching Espanyol v Real Madrid. The Madrid selection was slightly Sherwood-esque with Modric and Alonso in midfield and Ronaldo, Bale, Di Maria and Benzema also playing. The two full-backs bombed forward too. Of course they won 1-0 due to a goal from a set-piece scored by Pepe. Modric was absolutely brilliant.
Rio Ferdinand was very similiar in his early days, particularly at W.Ham. There became much less of it when he moved to United, presumably a hairdryer after one went wrong was enough.
Modric was absolutely brilliant for us. But not been an easy ride for him in Madrid. First year he was voted worse buy of the season! But now he's showing his talent.
Good weekend for me Spurs winning 2-0 and Sutton returning to action winning at Chelmsford,by the same score,Jamie Slabber And Dale Binns, getting the goals, moving Sutton up to 3rd place
What would you do,Tots,if Sutton reach the Football League.....and they can...today. I remember for years Peterborough kept winning the Midland League but the Football League wouldn't let them,or anyone else,in.........until,finally,they relented and voted them in. That first season, for Peterborough,I went to watch them play Palace at Selhurst Park.Great game with Posh winning 4-3!
See the FIFA team of the year is announced FIFpro World XI: Neuer, Lahm, Alves, Ramos, T. Silva, Iniesta, Xavi, Ribery, Messi, Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic. Looks a strong defensive unit
there is automatic promotion to the Football league now,if you are in the top two of the conference premier,so Sutton have a bit to go yet,but then again back in the 60's Sutton and Wimbledon were in the same division, and Wimbledon ended up winning the FA cup,and playing in the top league, not long later
Ramos? Ramos?! He's the most overrated defender that the world has ever seen! The prick has one of the easiest jobs around playing for two sides that are heavily favoured by officials, yet he's been sent off more times than Joey Barton and Lee Cattermole put together! Ludicrous that he's even considered.
That was mainly what I meant by defensive unit. Team would be great with the ball, but not without it
5th consecutive year that Xavi and Iniesta have made it as well, that's a little excessive. Having said that, John Terry made 5 consecutive appearances

Who has a shout to be included? Suarez or Aguero possibly but they are missing Sandro in that team or Shawcross instead of Ramos.
Tim Vine day at Sutton on Saturday, lots of pre-match entertainment, then he leads the team out as mascot, and in the evening he has a sell out show.Tim is a keen Sutton Supporter
